What can i say about this book? It has a brilliant and unique plot idea and an enjoyable story, which are things that are very important when making a good book. Josh was by far my favourite character, i should he was just adorable, but Tyler was a not so distant second choice. However, i feel like i never really got to know the characters as well as i would have liked to, as there wasnt really much character development for me to base my opinion of them on. And while i definitely enjoyed the storyline, i had to say parts of it did get slightly tedious, and i was very disappointed with the ended. It seemed far too rushed towards the end, and i would have liked to have been given more detail. Also, many of the decisions the characters make throughout the book i can understand even if i don't agree with them, but Josh accepting Abby back so soon after she'd broken his heart and dated his brother seemed very unrealistic in the sense of the story line. Other than that it was an enjoyable, quick read, but not something i would rave about to my friends

It's rare to find a novel with a premise that is wholly unique, but Parallel managed to have just that. The plot was constantly twisting and turning, going left every time I expected it to go right, but in the best ways possible. Captivating and intriguing, the author proposed interesting questions and thoughts, (view spoiler)[and the connections between soulmates and fate and destiny were adorable and hopeful, I completely loved them <3 :) (hide spoiler)] A lot of the secondary characters were interesting and wonderful as well, including Dr. Mann, Caitlin, and Abby's parents. There were some issues with the character of Ilana, (who I constantly read as "the Llama") such as the whole mean girl concept, but I found it okay because Abby matured throughout the book, and Ilana was not only used as the stereotypical mean/promiscuous girl, who is judged before the main character really knows her. 
(view spoiler)[I instantly didn't like Josh when Abby met him, and that soured me to him for the rest of the novel. I probably would have enjoyed the novel a lot more if I had liked him more. Sigh. (hide spoiler)] Also, my favourite lines: "Your life is always your own," Dr. Mann says sharply. "You are a uniquely created being with a transcendent soul." ... "There is no wrong path [when] it comes to destiny. There are only detours, you see." Sit next to one of the most awful lines I have ever read: "My armpits tingle with shame." Like, wtf does that even mean? And no, the shameful incident did not at all involve her armpits.
Overall wonderful and unique with unexpected twists that cause the entire book to be exciting and exhilarating. :)

I was ready to give this book a higher rating, a 4 or a 5, until those last 2 pages. I am so disappointed right now. I loved how the story was going, and then it just took a turn into a direction I completely did not expect. And there was no explanation. At least put a few more chapters, making sure it ended how it should have ended. Wow. This story was so original, and I was ready to start crying in a few moments, but now all I am is mad. This book could have left me with such an amazing feeling. But it didn't. Just because of the last 2 pages. Throughout the story, I loved how everything intertwined, and everything was starting to make sense. But that ending, really? I would recommend it though, because the rest of the book is amazing. I don't think I'll ever get over that ending, though.
