With some time on my hands and sunny days I like grabbing some easy books I can go through on a lazy afternoon, this was one of those books.

By now we have all figured out that ‘la parisienne’ is some weird obsession that the fashion/beauty industry seems to have and not an actual woman or group of women.

I thought the book was funny to scan through on a sunny afternoon, it had some nice tips on how to dress professionally with a few key items. I didn’t like some of the language in the book, like when you go on vacation you can’t pack a lot of clothes but don’t you dare look like a ‘provincial’. Yet you don’t want to look rich. Such terms seemed a bit classist to me, especially since the actual outfits weren’t very complicated or ‘rich’. 

Please do not listen to the skincare tips, i stopped reading halfway through because they were horrible.

Warning: about half of the book is filled with addresses of different stores in Paris. It seems a bit like ‘advertisement’ to me but it’s only interesting if you’re planning to travel there. 

Overall it’s fun to read on a sunny afternoon. Would i recommend it? I wouldn’t spend my money on it, but if you’re looking for an easy to read book on how to dress professionally without breaking the bank, get it from the library.
