It was solidly okay. I'm not one for short stories, and this one was a series of cases (short stories) that worked within a framework of a larger case/story arc. The attempt at something a little different in terms of a detective novel is respectable, but it didn't light my fire.

This book of Tommy and Tuppence short stories (all connected by the central theme of the dynamic duo running a detective agency while keeping an eye out for a dangerous criminal) is what Parker Pyne Investigates WISHES it was. Thoroughly enjoyable. Tuppence in particular is a delight.

Tommy and Tuppence are not my favourite detectives, but they are definitely a funny couple. I enjoyed some of the mysteries quite a lot, and I loved how each short story has Tommy or Tuppence trying to imitate a famous detective from novels, including Poirot, which I found great!

This is definitely not as good as the first Tommy and Tuppence long novel, but it made for a great and enjoyable read.

Not as good as the first as all the cases began to feel monotonous. Still a wonderful quick read. Love the dynamic between a tommy and Tuppence.
