Silver Borne made me cry a few times! By now you guys know I’ve been binge reading this series and OMG have I fallen in love with it. I think part of the reason this book made me cry is because I’ve come to care so much for these characters over the last few weeks. Everyone is pretty much in some kind of danger or hurt in this book. Silver Borne is book five in this series, and having read them back to back so far, I feel like DAMN! They’ve gone through SO much in less than a year, which is the time span of these last five books. I guess if you only read one a year it doesn’t really become as noticeable, but I noticed. lol I could not believe Samuel. And I could not believe what happened to Adam. And, GAH! Mary Jo! Really?! And Gabriel! Lordy… SO MUCH! If you haven’t read these, you’re probably questioning my sanity and ability to put my thoughts down, but it makes some kind of sense if you happen to HAVE read it. I had to forcefully stop myself from reading River Marked because there’s a couple of books ahead of it, but man! I want to! NOW! I’m almost caught up! I did like how this one ended though. It was a happy ending! I’m happy with where things are at the moment, though I know it won’t last. :)

I love the Mercy Thompson series! This was definitely wasn't my favorite. I usually rate/rave better than this. The overall story was great, the plot moved along fairly quickly and I liked the big problem in this story. However, this series is definitely not one that you should binge read. Although I flew through the first 5 books, I'm taking a little break since each book is finding its comfortable rhythm. It's not necessarily bad for a long series to find a rhythm, it can just become very repetitive/predictable. The only problem I had with this book, which is what heavily affected the rating, was the big Sam/Samuel plotline. We (I hope) as readers saw that coming, and I was really excited to see the author play on his sorrow and guilt, which they did by producing the problematic storyline with him in this book. But I HATED, I repeat, HATED how quickly Briggs resolved it. It was literally off page as well as within the span of a chapter. She spent the WHOLE book building and building only to resolve it hastily and without any real emotion or meaning. Briggs, if you were going to make that risky decision (which I loved!) then commit!! 

Overall, another great story in a great series. As soon as I'm done with my little break, I'll be continuing!

I LOVED it! Yet another winner from Brigs. I swear I love the Mercy books more and more and more with each one I read! I sure hope there's another one coming up after this one!
