           Overall a rather mitigated read... I was looking forward to reading what would happen after Chandonne was finally taken down. I liked the narrative structure with the different characters’ perspectives, even though I was a bit sad to lose sight of Kay Scarpetta’s.

But I found the plot rather intricate and the twist around the Charonne family’s stronghold in Baton Rouge with Benton’s return a bit disappointing - even if I truly like this character and could not wait for him to come back! 
The sudden resolution at the end is not really satisfying : all the bad guys die in a few pages, Jay Talley disappears with surprisingly no resistance and Jean-Baptiste Chandonne is still at large.

This had me all kinds of emotions. I guess I missed a book in this series. Scarpetta is in Florida as a consultant. She gets caught up in a series of manipulations from someone from her past and thought to be well in the grave. This leads her to NY, TX and finally Baton Rouge, LA where her past comes rushing in. There’s intrigue, murder, mystery and a dangerous killer from her past in the loose.

I've been a Scarpetta fan from the very first book but it looks like Patricia Cornwell has run out of ideas ! I loved "The Last Precinct" and was really anxious to read its follow-up but was really disappointed by Blow Fly. I just couldn't believe the plot twist Cornwell had to resort to in order to keep the story going, it was so predictable...

I think this is the last Scarpetta novel I read, I really lost the interest with this one, too bad...

This wasnt one of my favorites. Purely because it seemed like the book was basically over before any action took place. I did enjoy the story line, and the major thing we find out in the beginning that kinda made me say REALLY out loud. Also the book was told from multiple characters points of view, which I did like, but threw me off when I started reading it because none of her other books (at least that I can remember) are written like that.. 
I am hoping that the next book will be the end of this case that's taken up the last two books, it was entertaining but I'm ready to move on..
