The Secret Book of Flora Lea

Two young girls, Hazel and Flora, are sent out of London in anticipation of the Blitz during WWII. One day, the youngest, Flora, disappears. Twenty years later, Hazel, her sister, receives a book with stories that she had told Flora that only they knew. Could Flora be alive after all these years?

I wanted to love this book, and I didn't. I did like it, but it seemed unbelievable, primarily because I didn't really understand the characters' minds and motivations, which felt somewhat underdeveloped.

This book had all my favorite things: Timeline jumping, settings in England and New England, a family saga and a bit of magical realism. Absolutely adored this one!!
