What If Night?

This children's picture book asks the question "what if night never came?" as a way of getting at how important night's natural darkness is to life on earth. All life evolved with bright days and dark nights and needs both for optimal health. Without night's darkness we lose the moon and stars and all the thrills of a starry night; we lose the conditions so many creatures need to survive and thrive; we lose a place where all of us-but especially our children-can dream of the places they will go and the experiences they will have. Night is a time of beauty and wonder that too many of us don't know to explore-or we are afraid. The good news is that night's natural darkness is still out there, and we can help bring it back.
