I feel like I would have liked this book better if I had read it when I was younger. 

Just the actions of younger characters bug me - I'm just at a point in my life I'd like to read about older characters, not New Adults. I don't really want to read about New Adult dating problems lol that's just me though.

Still a very good read/listen. 
It's been on my TBR list for years so I'm glad I finally got to it.

I feel like I've been everywhere and back with this book the last couple of days. My friend convinced to read this mainly because of my obsession with Outlander but lack of interest in almost any other historical romance. While The Bronze Horseman is not exactly going to go on my favorites shelf I'm glad I read it! It's one of those books I've considered reading before but probably would've never picked it up without being given that little nudge. The last few chapters almost had me bump this book up to a 4 because it was so intense and I absolutely burned through those pages! It was definitely the most emotionally connected I felt throughout this entire book and made me feel for Tatiana & Alexanders doomed future.

 However, the number of times this book drove me insane for hundreds and hundreds of pages of doing nothing but dragging pointless plots out and being extremely repetitive. Thinking about how grueling majority of this book was and how often I got fed up with pretty much every character's actions was enough to make me drop it back down to 3. I would definitely say I have a love-hate relationship with this book for various reasons but right now I'm excited to start book 2 so clearly that last bit swayed me more towards love than hate. I feel like reading this book almost in an entire night was not the best plan because it's ridiculously long, but if I read it over a longer period of time chances are I would've likely never finished it either. 

Also, Shura started out as this special endearment that showed the strong connection between Alexander and Tatiana. However, after a certain point I wanted to eradicate it permanently as Tatiana started using it at the start of almost every sentence she spoke to to Alexander.

This book is amazing. Tatiana and Alexander are a great couple and I love them.

Here we go, it took me a while to compile this review, which isn’t a surprise considering it took me almost 84 years to finish this book. I usually love war stories, even with the back drop of the horrible events during that time period, most authors get to write wonderful tales that pull you in and make you want to fight for the characters. This was not the case with this book. To me, it felt the torture just kept continuing. 

No wonder this book was so thick, there was so much useless information in it, and I usually like descriptions of settings in books, but here I learnt how one can overdo descriptions. 

The characters were shallow, with little to no growth throughout the book. Almost everyone dies and that just makes you stop caring about any of the characters. Alexander had a horrible temper and what could be considered as an emotionally abusive relationship with both the sisters, but of course he is an officer and girls just fawn over him. 

I knew this was a series of books before I started it, but honestly, I can’t think that I would ever pick up the rest of the series or in this case, anything by this author.
