What an amazing book! Follow the life of China’s formidable female Empress as she rises to power from a lowly concubine to the Empress Dowager and ruler of China in the late 1800s-1908. Through her many rises and falls, she led the government as a strong and fearless ruler. Excellent read! **The only con about this audible is that it was transferred from CDs and quite frequently you are told to “change the CD.” Not sure why that could not have been edited.

The story and the setting were really interesting, but the long and winding descriptions made this book a chore to read.
