Penelope's story was my favourite Our Canadian Girl story when I was younger. Even re-reading it now, I think I understand why. Sharon McKay does a wonderful job of capturing so much emotion in her writing. I empathized with Penny so hard because of this, and it hurt in my heart when I read about her journey after the Halifax explosion. Even now, I can remember how much I cherished this one. I can't wait to read the rest.
