TW: Abuse, Rape, Murder, Suicidal Ideation This was my first read by Pepper Winters and I’m really not sure what to think of this book. So first of all, I really can’t say that this is a romance book. Because there’s no way that it is. There’s just no romance in it. If you know me by now you know that I enjoy reading dark romance. But this was on another kind of level. There is no romance in this book. Nada, nothing. It was dark, twisty, extremely heart wrenching, a little upsetting and very disturbing. On the other hand I am very intrigued to see how the rest of the series plays out. And under everything listed before, it interested and engaged me enough to want me to read the next book in the series, I just hope that it goes in a different direction than this book went in. I’m really unsure how to rate this book honestly. I enjoyed it but this book was really heavy. I feel emotionally drained after reading this though and eager to start reading book two. If you are a LOVER of dark romance and have the stomach to read something that will question why you're reading this book in the first place then this is for you. This was an absolutely mind blowing read for me. Talk about pushing the limits here this definitely did that for me. This book is by no means for the faint of heart. Please be wary before picking this book up!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I found Pepper Winter on a rainy day i was looking for something addictive And found it her writing is addictive and the best thing i found

PIMLICO? que clase de nombre es ese???

2 stars because i really felt like nothing happened in this book. i'm accustomed to reading dark books, but honestly, the majority of this book is just the heroine being sexually, physically, and mentally abused. that's it. it was exhausting to read about the same abuse being committed over and over again, it literally made me wanna set the world on fire with the awful shit that the h went through. i also couldn't understand the H's actions because on the one hand he was infuriated by what was happening to the h, but on the other hand he also used it as an opportunity to hook up with her, which felt really wrong to be honest. idk it was hard to keep track of what he actually wanted and not wanted to do and where his motives laid. on the upside, loved the revenge that happens at the end and i'm sorta interested in seeing where the story goes, but this first book wasn't very convincing.

I have been to excited for Pepper to finish Millions to start this series. I was a tad bit disappointed in this book. But then again, you needed this book to know how bad Pim's life has been for the last few years. Tasmin was murdered, brought back to life, and kidnapped. She was held captive in a hotel-type space until she was purchased by Alrik. She was given the name Pimlico, no longer Tasmin. Alrik is the worst person that could have ever purchase a person. He couldn't care less about Pim's well-being. Being the rich man he is, he liked purchasing luxurious things. This is where Elder comes in. He's selling Alrik a yacht and he sees Pim when he goes to do business at Alriks' home. He's automatically intrigued with Pim and even includes her in part of the deal. Just one night with her is all he wants. His obsession gets the best of him and he knows that he needs more than one night with her. A lot of action happens in this book. There's lots of blood and plenty of killing. It was a pretty action-filled start to this series. There was almost nothing sexy about this one. Nothing really even happens between Pim and Elder. I'm pretty excited to see what happens between Pim and Elder. I'm really hoping for more of a relationship like Tess and Q! This is the first book of Pepper Winters that I'm not giving five stars to and I feel terrible about it. But it's still getting four!

I received an ARC of this story through Hidden Gems and this is my honest and voluntary review. This is a intriguing story. I wasn't sure what to expect from a story about a sex slave (the bad kind, not the fun kind). I was quite happy to see that a lot of the darkest happenings in this story were glossed over and merely explained simply after they occurred by Pim in her diaries to No One. Elder's fascination, sort of obsession, with Pim is sweet in a very twisted way and I kept wanting him to save her from her slavery. This story was not my usual cup of tea but it was an interesting change. I only wish the story had been more... action oriented, I felt a lot of this book I was waiting for something to happen.

You can find also find my review here I feel like the synopsis is way too nice for how dark this book is. Tasmin is just your average girl ready to start her life with college when at her mothers party she get’s stolen and that’s when the down spiral starts. She’s kidnapped and sold to the highest bidder at an auction. This first book is all about Tasnim (Pimlico is her new name once she gets sold) with her master for two years. Pepper Winters takes us through the physical, mental, and emotional torment of the main character. And many times my eyes got teary, and many times it was hard to swallow. However, I couldn’t put the book down because Tasnim (Pimlico) was so strong and she never gave that awful man the one thing he wanted, her voice. We meet Elder, the “savior” which I thought was a blatant asshole. Funny thing was that before the book starts, the author wrote the readers a note about the triggers and explaining to us what to expect which I’m thankful for. But she also ask us the readers if we were ready to fall in love with Elder. I have read two books out of this 5 book series and I DO NOT LOVE HIM YET!!! Elder is an asshole and a thief. And he takes what he wants when he wants, no questions asked. I completely understand his character but when we meet him I was like “what is happening?” Which was why I couldn’t put the book down. Elder and Tasnim (Pimlico) meet through a business deal with her master, she meets him and he’s intrigued by her. Her master even offers her to him but instead Elder decides to play a game with this man. A very dangerous game. And things are about to get a lot worse. Pepper Winters slightly explores Elder and we see that he has a secret past but she teases us with it. Which has me really intrigued to ask “who is Elder?” I feel like the author tackled this really well. Writing about sex slavery must be hard and going through the motions with the main character, Pepper Winters excelled wonderfully. The writing was easy to get through and very few characters were mentioned who were all messed up.
