i love them so much and i love the development they both had. especially for jenn. she has begun to set boundaries and standing up to her momma. plus the little tidbits that would only make sense (or hurt more) once you've read beard with me. PLEAZE. 

i also love the little beaushelly crumbs pls i'd give my left lung for a beaushelly novella.

E&E is a spin-off of Jenn and Cletus' book (Beard Science) from the Winston Brothers series. If you haven't read any Penny Reid books before and want to read this one, I recommend at least reading 

Beard Science before this book because it will make more sense lol. 
When I first saw that we were getting more Jenn and Cletus, I SCREAMED. The love I have for this couple in unreal. I adore their first book, Beard Science, and whenever I'm feeling down I always go back and reread it. 

I immediately fell in love with the plot and I couldn't put it down. I love how we were able to see the struggles Jenn and Cletus faced at the beginning of their relationship after getting together. 
While I love Jenn, my favorite part of this book was definitely Cletus' POV. I love how he thinks and processes stuff! He is so far from perfect and I'm obsessed. He isn't selfish in his love of Jenn --if anything, his love for Jenn is selfish but in the best way possible. Cletus is so soft and sweet and I almost felt like my heart could not handle it. 

I am so excited because based on the titles for the next 3 books, we will be able to see their family and relationship grow. And if that is not the sweetest thing ever, then I don't know what is. 

In this book we see Jenn grow and actually think about the promises she makes. We see her step out of her bubble. I loved seeing her become her own person for not only Cletus but for herself. 

I decided on 4 stars because while the plot had me interested (I did guess who it was but there was a little plot twist), I found myself wanting to get back to Jenn and Cletus more than wanting to know more about the mystery. But a book does need a plot and it was interesting. As I said, I just wanted more Jenn and Cletus moments. 

Anyways, I can't believe we have to wait a year for book 2 because now that my J and C addiction has been fed, I'm not sure how I'll go another year without more of them.

Didn't have the same magic as Beard Science. I'm putting this down to the fact that Jenn and Cletus were apart (so lacking banter) and when thinking about one another it was repetitive. I understand why they were apart due to the "mystery" but it was a little too much, especially all of the interruptions. 
As for the mystery, it was ok. I wish more time was spent on motives that made sense rather than some (what seemed at least) far-fetched reasons. 

Unlike Beard Science, I probably won't re-read until the next one comes out.
