Wow ok so I never thought Jackson James would be a favorite of mine but now I can 100% say: JACKSON JAMES IS ON MY TOP 5. Actually, TOP 3😭😭

I loved everything about this book. Raquel is AMAZING and every time I read a new Penny Reid book I'm always surprised at how well developed her characters are. Man, I love the Green Valley world. 


I'm so glad this is the first in a series cause I could not deal if this was just a standalone, I need more!

Holy Hot Beards! Jackson and Rae are setting the town alight - and they didn't even get "down to it" during their interlude. But let's just say Jackson and the "Kraken" made an impression. One that lasted 5 years! Now when Rae is disillusioned with her Hollywood life she hides out in small-town Tennessee. Just when she thought she had shaken off the parasitic paparazzi she has found herself in another pot of hot water. 

Rae is endearing as the Hollywood Starlet who is all substance. Sure she'll flaunt her "charms" when the role needs it, she is not ashamed of her girls but she is sick and tired of being typecast. She has friends who are anything but and a PA I'd gladly strangle. Jackson is the reformed playboy. He had his heartbroken and played the field but now his reputation may stop him from taking over as Sheriff when his father retires. He really tried so hard to shed the bad-boy image and is now the paragon of small-town gentleman.

Be prepared to forgive Jackson for his role in the jail time of some of the Winston's - he was just doing his job - even they can admit that now!

Small-town romance, heaps of comedy, a great cast of secondary characters (especially the bodyguards - they need a book of their own, they are hilarious and so down to earth with Rae). Sexy times are constantly being interrupted so the passion gets banked up like you would not believe!
