Sarah J. Maas

The sexy, action-packed first book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series from Sarah J. Maas. When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world. At least, he's not a beast all the time. As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or doom Tamlin--and his world--forever. From bestselling author Sarah J. Maas comes a seductive, breathtaking book that blends romance, adventure, and faerie lore into an unforgettable read.

writing review after finishing the series. moves fast and one of the best plot twists (done well) I have ever read. the focus of the series may be skewed by the overwhelming romance however.

Maas’ writing style is the kind that takes you fully out of reality while reading. This story is heartbreaking , funny at times, romantic, and overall really really good.

This book BLEW me away. I seriously could not write enough positive things about this book. From the sparkling language, emotion- invoking characters, and insane creation of a new world, this book checks off all the boxes for me. I found myself simultaneously trying to savor this book while also not being able to turn the pages fast enough. I wish I could read this again for the first time. The characters are endearing and the world building that Maas has created is mind bending. I'm beyond excited that there's many books in this series and I can't wait to see what Sarah J. Maas does with the rest of this series.

it was like Katniss Everdeen meets Beauty and the Beast in the absolute best way possible. The plot was good however I did feel the ending was a bit of a cop out and could have had a bit more impact had Feyre not managed to somehow achieve all of her goals in what felt like the last few moments

The last 5 chapters I would rate a 4. Overall it was a fun read and I would recommend it for others to read. It just wasn’t very thrilling. I’m excited for book 2.

Between a 3.5 and 4 for me. For about two thirds of the book I was wondering what all the hype was about, it wasn't bad but it didn't wow me. I still felt the last third dragged a little more than it needed to, but I really got into it then and it ended on a high note. As I've heard, "The first book is the worst!" I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.

A Court of Thorns and Roses.
