I liked this story about a guy who tries to wash dishes in all 50 states. At first I wasn't sure if I liked this guy who ate off dirty plates and mooched more than he gave, but then he grew on me. He took pride in his work and his venture (researching dish histories in the library, publishing his zine). He reminded me a bit of Dan Price (Radical Simplicity) or Chris McCandless (Into the Wild), a wanderer with a quest. Pete's not so preachy and he abandons his mission when he finds love, so that's something I can get behind. But his stories do get bogged down at times and I found myself scanning some of his entries. A nice light read and a better way to spend time...leave your dishes for later.
