The Fisher Genealogy (Classic Reprint)

Excerpt from The Fisher Genealogy Col. Horace Newton Fisher made investigations on the subject of the Dedham immigrants when in Harvard Law School. Supplemented by research in England during a dence there just before the war. These investigations were made particularly with regard to his branch of the family, and were greatly facilitated by the use of material collected by his father and uncles. We have placed the account which he gives of the Fishers of Syleham, England, and their connec tions. In the first pages of this work. Many years ago, Charles Fisher, of Cincinnati, gathered family records among all the relatives he could find, but this material has long ago disappeared The late Nathaniel G. Chapin, Esq of Brookline, Mass. Worked for a number of years, desiring to gain a complete record of all the descend ants of Nathaniel and Hannah (baker) Fisher, of Canton, Mess., and his material is accurate and very complete to the last day he worked upon it. We have had but to rearrange his material, kindly placed at our disposal by the widow, Mrs. Harriet Louisa (fisher) Chap in, and add the later events.
