Of Water and the Spirit Baptism and Mission in the Christian tradition

According to the latest official figures, the Church of England conducts over 2,600 baptisms every week and their popularity seems to be on the rise. The figures for christenings and for adult baptism alike both show an increase of around 5% on the previous year. The opportunities that this presents for mission are clear.
