Piece of work (2.5/5★), el primer libro, me sacó de mis casillas todo el tiempo. Tenemos al típico protagonista machito posesivo y a la protagonista que no sabe lo hermosa que es hasta que él se lo dice. Y digan lo que quieran, pero esta relación me parece un caso claro de acoso laboral y abuso de poder. El protagonista, Court, es el jefe de Rin quien trabaja como interna en un museo, se la pasa tratándola mal hasta que un día ella decide cambiarse de ropa y maquillarse y wow, mágicamente él está flechado por ella y ya no la deja ni un minuto en paz. Algo que debo advertirles es que estos libros están cargados de escenas sexuales (y yo no me lo esperaba porque miren estas adorables portadas), y supongo que está bien para el género de los libros pero, a veces era simplemente innecesario. El personaje masculino no respeta en ningún momento el hecho de que la protagonista está trabajando, tampoco acepta un no y continúa insistiendo, y se la pasa acosándola para luego, después de que ella cayó en su juego, decirle que no le hable más. Y la protagonista no tiene carácter en lo absoluto y ahí está tras él, porque claro, ella podría salvarlo y blablabá. Thank u, next.

For most of the book, I didn’t really know what to think. 

First of all, the main female character, Rin, was annoyingly boring. Her whole personality was her academic abilities and her love for art. She was very self-conscious about everything but her work. And then, suddenly, she gets a makeover and is ready to face the world. I mean, far from me to say a good outfit and some lipstick can’t give you a boost of confidence, but a whole personality? I doubt it.

Second of all, the main male character, Court, honestly should have gone to therapy. He treated Rin like garbage because of his own insecurities, but then also wanted her to belong to him. I don’t really mind the possession thing if it’s not too animalistic, but it made me feel uncomfortable a few times.

Now Rin was able to stand up for herself when she needed to, but the lack of communication on his part, and her inability to do what was best for her were really hard to read.

Other than that, the writing is fine, the story is passable, and I liked that the characters bonding over art.

Najpierw przewracalam oczami, potem całkiem nieźle się bawiłam, a potem wróciłam do przewracania oczami. Główny bohater był niesamowicie irytujący (może i przystojny, ale w życiu bym z kimś takim nie wytrzymała), charakter głównej bohaterki zmienił się diametralnie ze strony na stronę. Ale czytałam ją głównie po to, żeby się trochę oderwać, i spełniła swoje zadanie. Raczej nie będę kontynuować serii, ale inne książki autorki, które mam na kindle, prędzej czy później przeczytam.

Poelcam, jeśli macie ochotę na romans ze sztuką w tle (bo bohaterowie pracują w muzeum). No i jest za darmo w kindle store :)
