Pip Bartlett was a lot of fun to read, as this was something that I had never really read about before. It was middle grade, but it was amazingly written by both Jackson Pearce and Maggie Stiefvater. The world was magical but still very similar to our own, and kind of felt like one of the old Animal Ark books that I used to read as a kid. It did feel a little bit more grown up than those books, but it was still enjoyable nonetheless. The writing was really creative for being a middle grade book. The storyline was a lot of fun and so where the characters. All the characters were as multidimensional as they could be in a children’s/middle grade book. While it was overall really good, it wasn’t amazing, so because of that I’m having to give Pip Bartlett’s Guide to Magical Creatures 4/5 stars!
