I really like reading books by Cory Doctorow. 
His young adult novels are the only reason why I would like to be a teenager again. Because I understand that his books at the moment are an interesting, easy to read novels, but get that if I was reading this 10 years ago it would be a lot more inspirational. 
The feeling I had reading this novel reminded me a bit of reading Sneakers manuscript or The Cuckoo's Egg about a decade ago.

Reads a LOT like "Little Brother" by the same author. The story could be a lot shorter and still be informative and interesting.
