I had high hopes for Eli and Alex's book and I was not dissapointed! All that bickering in the previous books had to explode eventually, right? It all starts when Alex saves Eli from a fire. And almost gets killed in the process...

Eli is the mayor of Chicago and is up for reelection. When his campaign manager and ex-wife suggests that he pretend to be dating Alex as a way to win votes, since the media and the public are going wild over their story, he doesn't put much of a fight. But Alex is not easily convinced, so he lies to her and pretends it is the only way to protect her and her family from bankruptcy.

But what starts as a fake relashionship quickly becomes a very real one. Eli may think women are not strong enough to do a firemen's job, but he soon realizes just how strong Alex is. Especially when she allows herself to be vulnerable with him.

However, it was all based on a lie. What will happen when Alex discovers the truth? Will Eli be able to prove to her that she's what matters most to him?

I loved these two so much! The way Eli sees the real Alex and only calls her Alexandra, the way he's so domineering which only empowers her, and the way he's so protective of her while at the same time recognizing her strenght! And OMG, when they are together it's scorching hot. Good thing Alex's a firefighter ;)

Oh, and I cannot wait to know what Wyatt's secret is...

Kate Meader definitely knows how to hook the readers in whenever she created romance stories! She always deliver the perfect combination in her romance books with hilarious moment mix with sexy romance. And she deliver again with Playing With Fire.

Playing With Fire is the third book in the series. The reader will get to read about each of the sibling story. Playing With Fire starts off with Alex and Eli. 

Alex is a fierce firefighter women that she gets challenges through her life that it becomes a difficult challenge when she dates. She is having a hard time in the dating life that she takes her frustration in Eli. She does have attraction for Eli but she does not act on them since she does want Eli have control over her. I definitely think that the reader will understand ho Alex feeling about Eli because it is hard to be women when you work in a man dominant work field. However, the reader will also see how vulnerable Alex is when she shows her true feelings about her work, family and love relationship in Playing With Fire. Alex shows how strong she is and how kind she is too when she is with her family. Plus, we can also see how feisty she can be when she is around Eli, it's their foreplay. It's definitely hot and dirty between them that it makes it so much fun to read!

Eli is a hot politician that he has no problem expressing his views and feelings especially around the feisty firefighter, Alex. Eli is well-known in his community that he is running again for mayor but things become unexpected when he is around Alex more often. Eli has true feelings for Alex that he created an ruse to get Alex more into his life since he is scary that Alex would rejected him if he displayed his true feelings. Eli definitely fall for her but he is still guarded with his feelings because he is carrying on secrets. I won't spoiled for readers about Eli secret but they will definitely be surprise what it is and how it affect Eli life.

Playing With Fire is a great feisty romance read that all of the reader will fall in love with! Five Stars!

Playing with fire indeed! Super hot, super steamy, and well written. I liked that Alex was a well-rounded character, and not your typical fainting romance novel heroine. She's a bad ass fire fighter who likes punk underwear and a hot guy who will order her around the bedroom (but not life). Super fun.

I loved reading Playing with Fire! It’s a solid, entertaining read that is just SO good. It’s also seriously hot and sexy – I was totally not expecting the hero, the mayor of Chicago, to be as smokin’ as he was! Kate Meader has written a fantastic enemies-to-lovers romance that I was seriously invested in.

The first thing that attracted me to this book was the fact that the heroine is a female firefighter. I don’t think I’ve ever read about one before, so I was super excited to read about Alex Dempsey. And I loved what I found in her – Alex is a tough, independent, strong woman who doesn’t take shit from anyone, least of all Mayor Eli Cooper. She does what she wants, but that’s not always a good thing… since she doesn’t always think about the consequences of her actions. So one anger-fueled incident lands her right in the lap of the man she loves to hate.

Oh, God, this sexy-hate thing between them was crazy. She felt an overwhelming urge to both punch him and hug him.

Eli Cooper is running for the second term of his mayorship (is that a word?) and he needs the backing of the firefighters, especially the Dempseys, to win the election. Eli is kind of a dick in the beginning of the book – he’s made sexist comments towards female firefighters (which is the first reason why Alex loves to hate him), and he blackmails Alex into pretending to date him for the media. But as I read more, I saw another, better side to Eli, one that’s not as cold and callous as he first seemed. And this change and redemption is all thanks to one fiery, passionate woman.

Eli has wanted Alex since he first saw her, but it seems that with every encounter, they only bring out the worst in each other. The banter, the sharp remarks, the glares – they all serve to light up the crazy-hot chemistry that’s been there from the start. I loved that Eli and Alex are such a perfect match for one another and that they’re able to go head-to-head with neither of them backing down. And oh. my. god. The sex between them is panty-melting H.O.T! Eli’s mouth is the dirtiest thing ever, and I loved it. I loved how alpha he is, how sensual and sexy and dominant he is in bed. You will seriously need a FAN when you read this book!

“I will fuck the ever-loving smart-assery out of you, Alexandra.” He got started on that, pumping in and out, in and out. Deeper, harder. “I’m going to fuck you so good the only word on your lips will be my name. The only answer to every question will be my name. Now say it.”

Eli also has to do some wooing to win the heart of the woman he’s fallen for, and I just about died at the way he goes about it. First he’s a dirty-talking alpha-male, and now he’s sweet and loving? My heart couldn’t handle it. I ended up falling so hard for his character. I loved Alex, but Eli was definitely my favorite character in this book.

“You’re a goddess and I’m not worthy to worship at your feet, but I’m happy to spend the rest of my life trying to be good enough for you.”

This review is littered with firefighter puns, but there’s no better way to describe Playing with Fire than a scorching hot romance you don’t want to miss. It’s a great, satisfying read with fantastic writing and a cast of characters I adore. I can’t wait for more from this series!
