I really liked a lot of points made in this book. As someone who's about to be a new mom, but brimming with opportunity in careers and possibilities, this book is a nice reminder of how your decisions can affect those around you and prioritizing is important to avoid being overwhelmed.

If you have the privilege of being able to afford trips to Hawaii and summers at the lake, you might really connect with this author. I do not recommend the audio. There were so many words and phrases that could have been cut out. It was like a special speaker at a women’s conference. Flowery and fuzzy. But when read quickly just repetitive.

I was curious to find out why everyone on the internet was raving about this book. The author made a few good points that I highlighted and shared with a few friends, but I was disappointed that there didn't seem to be a narrative or any kind of string holding the chapters together. Every chapter felt like an independent blog post, so it didn't feel much like a "book" at all.

This was a good book! I wasn’t sure it was the book for me at first, but if you saw all the tabs I put in it you’d see how wrong I was. There are a lot of things that I want to implement in my life, and that made me look at things differently. It’s worth the read!
I also felt like the beginning of the book was as frantic as she was, and we watched her writing calm down. That was a neat touch!

I read this book during the perfect season of life. One of my intentions this year was to simply and release my pressure to always be achieving more and hustling harder. I found Shauna Niequist's book to be very easy to read. I adore her approachable style. I am grateful that she is willing to be vulnerable and honest about her struggles. I don't want my criticism to take away from that, as I honestly believe that this book is helpful and refreshing.

I have a few issues with the type of Christianity that she presents...if you read other reviews you'll probably come across some things pointed out by scrupulous readers. My biggest issue is her presentation of God. She states that when she prays, she prays to either the Father or the Holy Spirit and not to Jesus. I come with the understanding that God is all three all the time and you cannot just pray to part of God. 

As a (hopefully) recovering perfectionist, I took a lot away from this book and I have no regrets reading it.

I'm not really the target audience for this book, but I still really enjoyed it. Have been looking for ways to slow down, and this provided some good insights, and ways of thinking about the pace and circumstances of life.
