What a perfect book; it's got everything- murder mysteries, crime, humour, romance and friendships. Priest has touched upon many interesting themes: victimhood, trauma, victims becoming victimisers while drawing a picture of intertwined, multi generational cases and giving a tribute to her favourite novels. The relationships in the novel are fantastically written, be it mentor-mentee connections, the friendship among the team, or the romance between the main leads. If all of this doesn't inspire you to read the book, I'll draw out the ultimate card; there's a cute, fluffy, arrogant cat whose perspective we get to read from.
