3 stars. buddy read I felt like I shouldn't have liked this book because the character pretends she is smart but ignores all the red flags. Red flags literally waving in her face. On the other hand, the author is great at keeping the suspense and makes me want to read the second one immediately... or maybe it's just a guilty pleasure read. I'm not sure yet.

This book delivers!! I have been not so patiently waiting on Princess Ballot's release since I first pre-ordered it way back in September and I was so NOT disappointed. My only regret now is that I will have to wait for the next book to feed my new addiction. Princess Ballot has managed to expertly merge a few of my most favorite themes into one amazing story that I could not put down. Violet is my new girl crush. She's smart, she's funny, and she is holding her own in this crazy world of royals she unexpectedly has found herself in. She doesn't react in the typical fashion of a MC who has found herself in a to-good-to-be-true situation. She's not holding anything back. She is throwing herself into the opportunities coming to her and not taking anyone's crap! I cannot wait to find out more about Violet's past and see what is coming in her future. Please tell me the next book will be out soon!!! Oh yeah, also, just buy this book, you will not regret it!!
