Mia is disappointed, because she has been hoping that it would be Michael.she says that she cant hurt Kenny's feelings because he asked her out and accepts so now theyre boyfriends!. omg !! lol

This book was not as good as the first book. It lacked a main plot that could drive the story through. Most of what occurs could have been condensed and added in other books, it did not need to be its own book. Although the plot was not well developed, the characters helped make it enjoyable.

Sweet and funny. A bit predictable but still enjoyable. I sometimes feel like grabbing Mia and shaking her by her shoulders to wake her up, but at the same time I know I was like that too at her age.

Mia, sos todo lo que está bien, nunca cambies.

again mia michael blueprint; buddy rereading w sher

I don't know if I liked this one better or not, but it was nice anyway. And I still want to continue with the series, which means something, right?

Seventh book finished for #TBRTakedown. June 2015. As seen on Caity Reads. I adore this series so much. This second novel was just as funny and entertaining as the first. I listened to these first few installments on Audiobook, through Scribd, and I loved every second of it. This has to do with a few things, of course I love Meg Cabot’s writing. She does a fantastic job of making Mia feel so authentic. I remember worrying about some of the things Mia worries about, in high school. Of course, I never had to worry about having to rule a country when I got older; but still. I probably don’t have to say it, but Anne Hathaway did a fantastic job as the narrator. Though I may be biased, because The Princess Diaries movies were some of my favorites when I was younger; and I love Anne in everything I’ve seen her in. I really love the characters in this book series. Mia especially, if it wasn’t already obvious. Cabot does a fantastic job of giving Mia a voice and making her seem authentic. The diary style in which the books are written in, definitely make this easier to do. However, she doesn’t skimp on making the other characters stand out also. The books are incredibly fast paced, and I have no doubt in my mind that if I had read this in physical form it would have taken me no time to devour it. (The audiobooks are only around four or five hours long anyway.) Overall, I really love this series and would definitely recommend it if you like light young adult contemporary novels. I would also recommend it if you loved the Princess Diaries movies. The novels have a little more too them, and are quite a bit different. I cannot wait to read more of this series.

Meg Cabot does is again! She was able to create a story which I thoroughly enjoyed and had me laughing the entire time. Princess in the Spotlight is the second volume of Cabot's Princess Diaries series. In this book, Mia continues to struggle with accepting the fact that she is the heir to the small European country of Genovia. Mia still doesn't want to become a princess, but she still has little say in the matter. She has begun some of her royal duties, such as being interviewed on a high profile talk show, and of course, continuing her princess lessons with her Grandmere. To add to Mia's stress and anxiety, she learns her mother and Algebra teacher are going to have a baby! This of course leads to the marriage of Mia's mother and Frank. The couple wants a simple wedding done at the city court house. Unfortunately, once Mia blurted out the news on television, her Grandmere decided she was going to plan the wedding. SHe believes the mother of the only heir to Genovia's throne needs a fancy wedding. But that's not all. Did I mention Mia has a new secret admirer? He goes by the screen name JOC-Rox, as in Josie from Josie and the Pussy Cats. Now Mia is determined to find who exactly is the boy who thinks she is the "Josiest girl" around. Could it be her secret crush Michael, who just happens to be her best friend's brother? I don't know...it's possible, but to find out, you'd have to read the book :-P Also, since Mia's mother is getting married, her grandparent's from her mother's side come to town. Which is a big deal because apparently they have never left their small town in Indiana. WIth them, they bring along Mia's cousin Hank, who instantly stirs up interest at Mia's school. I love the style of writing Cabot uses; they are all written in Mia's perspective as diary entries. It's easy to read, and flows. naturally as if a real teenager had written it. The one thing that bothered me, however, was the fact that Michael created a video game that involved decapitating my favorite boy bands :( I believe level one was the Backstreet Boys, who are my favorite band ever! Then you moved on to 98 Degrees, *NSYNC, and the final level was Ricky Martin. I was horrified by this! (Yes, I am a dork :P) Overall, this book was just as light and fun as the first one. I look forward to reading volume three.

3.5 stars!

Hmm, not as good as the first one. It's still got the same New York vibe, but Mia is still slightly irritating. Not all the time, but often enough. It's not really that fair to expect her to have grown since the last one, considering since that one started in September, and this one ends in October. Not enough time has passed for her to get her act together. She did do a bit of growing though, namely in her acceptance of her mother dating Mr. Gianini. Likely because she realised that he wasn't a freak like she initially assumed after all, but actually a pretty nice guy. This time instead of being obsessed with Josh Richter though, she's moved onto Michael Moscovitz, Lilly's brother. It's weird, because she talks about how she's been in love with him forever, but he's hardly mentioned in the first book at all? And Mia really is able to take a bad situation and make it worse, so at least that hasn't changed. Anyway, because this series goes so slowly and is so long (10 books over the course of the entirety of Mia's high school career), they really all start to blend together, starting with this one. There's not really a definitive beginning or end, just a continual line. The first one really is the best, but the rest are good too.
