Compared to the amazing romantic comedies by Sophie Kinsella, Lindsey Kelk or Mhairi McFarlane, this was a good contender, although I have to admit I didn’t care much for Jen. Lydia, her sister, on the other hand, is perfect. She makes the whole story worthwhile and was incredibly well fleshed out, especially when compared to the supposed protagonist. 

I would recommend this book - it is lighthearted fun, with some amazing one liners which had me chuckling.

I really enjoyed this book. I feel like it dealt with some heavy topics but only hit the surface with the topics and it worked well. I'll admit the beginning was a little rocky for me. However, the more I read the harder it was to put it down and before I knew it I had finished the book. It was a cute, fun and fast read with a small hit of realness.

There are a lot of really wonderful reviews for this book, both on this site and on NetGalley, but unfortunately this book was a miss for me. There were elements of this story that I thought had the potential to be really cute. For example, Jen's passion for beer and craft brewing was really unique and I thought was a cool passion for a main character to have. Other than her passion for beer, she fell flat for me as a protagonist--I found her to be pretty unlikeable. 

I tried very hard to get into the story, but it just moved too slowly for me and there wasn't enough to keep me engaged and willing to push through. This was a DNF for me.
