Now I understand why they say that this is a classic self help book and it is. 

“A person cannot rise above how he sees himself. Trying to achieve without expanding your self-image doesn’t lead to lasting positive change. Change the self image and you change the personality and behavior”.

A must read for anyone who loves reading self help/psychology books. Will definitely re-read again.

Most complete book about the subject. If you're really serious about improving yourself I think you'll benefit a lot by doing all the exercises and studying it extensively. 

There is that one chapter near the beginning of the book that tells you to read it multiple times over the next few weeks for the information to stick, it really requires extensive study and much repetition to get the most out of it.

Thus I feel it requires setting everything else aside and solely focusing on this one book and all information presented, and your transformation may begin.

fucking finally finished it. anyways. interesting concepts are discussed in this book but unless you really, truly need to deal with a whole laundry list of personal issues, just read the book summary. it probably has fewer references to how we're all children of God, which I assume would be pretty tedious to read for non-believers.

Written by a plastic surgeon, the book emphasises self-worth issue many people experience due to (mostly) emotional trauma. He gives tools for emotional surgery to improve self-image, suggests tools for crisis management, and how to improve overall satisfaction with yourself and life around you.

This was not what I was expecting from a self-help book. Psycho-Cybernetics provided me with insights about myself that I was not aware of and showed me how I can fix myself with habits that I sometimes use. It has also given me a lot of things to think about and how I view myself. I didn't know that it was my self-image that was the problem, when I thought it was something else. What I liked about this book, is that it provides you with easy skills and habits that anyone can learn and do to help change your view of your self-image.

I don't enjoy reading self-help books, in fact, I don't really like non-fiction whatsoever. But people keep on recommending them to me. This was one of those books. I started reading it. But I dreaded SO MUCH and just couldn't get through it. So I listened to the audiobook. Still did not enjoy it. Barely got through twenty minutes of it everyday in double speed. Managed to question my entire existence. And not in a good way. I heard every single thing this book offered as a way out of depression, anxiety and passivity. But I guess it's a good place to start if you're into these kinds of books. Suit yourself. I'm out.

P.S.: Positive wisdom just means refined wisdom. Which is not wisdom at all.
