Reviews

Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks is a graphic novel romance set on Halloween, on the last day Josiah and Deja will be selling succotash together before college. For the last three years Josiah has had a crush on the fudge girl but has never spoken to her. Deja's mission is to make that happen in these last few hours. 33CCFF - couple uhoria cornfield. http://pussreboots.com/blog/2019/comm...

super cute, super cosy, casual bi rep and adorable art!

THIS WAS POSITIVELY DELIGHTFUL. I. Loved. This. Absolutely everything about it! It was the perfect read for today and to start the fall season! I loved the LGBTQ representation, the witty banter, the autumnal scenery and setting. This was just so cute and sweet and I already want to read it again! Can't wait for October!

ebook this was super cute! quick read and fun character development

★★★✩✩ (3) It was fine, pretty cute.

I'm a little bit disappointed in this one, it lacked the usual charm found in RR's novels. I liked the art but the format just didn't allow RR to work her magic. It's still a cute sory, but I won't be re-reading it.

This book is a delightful celebration of friendship and pumpkin patches. Such a joy to read! Read this when you want to escape the complications of the world for a bit.

Actual good demisexual rep?!?

I am absolutely DELIGHTED by this. Now I really want to go to a pumpkin patch even though it’s May.

This was really cute and made me wish Halloween was more celebrated here (with pumpkin patches like these all over the country). (view spoiler)[One thing I kind of disliked is how they basically ended up together. I want more platonic relationships, please, especially between a guy and a girl. P L E A S E. (hide spoiler)]

"Like every autumn smell all at once." I honestly can't pull a better quote from this adorable story that better suits it. This is the perfect read for fall, especially if you're wanting a cute Halloween read. The colors and illustrations were great, such a beautiful fall aesthetic...so many autumnal vibes! The story was adorable, even though it was predictable for me. It gives me all the fall feels and it makes me want to visit that pumpkin patch or find one just like it. I also want to try a pumpkin bomb! It was such a treat to read!

Such a cute story! Its a bit simple but it warms your heart.

Adorable! Sweet fluff that's funny and endearing in both the dialogue and the graphic representation of scenes and moments. I will read absolutely anything Rainbow Rowell writes and Faith Erin Hicks' art pairs wonderfully with her style!

This will forever be my favorite fall read 🖤🎃🍂👻🕯

was this basically the most adorable thing ever?? yes it was!!

This was so cute 😭😭 and her name is Deja that's my nickname 🥺🥺 closest i've ever got to reading about a character with the same name as me

fehilu: faith erin hicks i love u

This was so cute! Such a fun read for October!

This was extremely cute, I loved it!! 🥰

Sweet and fun graphic novel. I really loved wandering through the pumpkin patch with the two main characters & the girl was completely adorable. 3.5 stars.

3 stars | it’s alright. Predictable and I didn’t really like the art style.

3.5/5 This was exactly what I expected it to be! Very cozy, very adorable and very fall-themed which is 100% what I was after when I picked it up (both because I wanted to read it and because it perfectly fit one of the Gilmore Girls readathon challenges). The parts I loved, I really loved. (view spoiler)[ I loved Deja as a character immediately, and I very much enjoyed her sassiness and her seize-the-day attitude. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED HER FUDGE GIRL PUNS. THEY WERE INCREDIBLE. And also???? SHE'S A FELLOW BI BABY THAT I WILL PROTECT WITH MY ENTIRE EXISTENCE THANK YOU!! I also loved the main idea of the story, that is to say, kids who are faced with a huge part of their life ending/changing and having to deal with that and accept that (I myself am not the biggest fan of change). I could totally relate to those feelings of "oh no what am I going to do with my life now that this big part of it has to end", and I feel like I got the sense of hope and growing up that the book was going for, which is a plus! In general, it was an easy, very cute and fluffy read, and I knew I was going to enjoy it precisely because of that. (hide spoiler)] I only have one gripe with it, really. (view spoiler)[ I knew exactly what was going to happen from pretty much the beginning. I knew from the get-go that Josiah was going to have his epiphany and finally realise that Deja's the girl he actually likes. Her crush on him was also instantly obvious, so I could immediately see where the two were going to end up by the end. Not to say that it was completely predictable, because I did enjoy all the shenanigans that Josie and Deja went through on their adventure, but yeah, I totally saw it coming ten million miles away. I was honestly expecting for them to not end up together, because platonic relationships are just as good and valuable as romantic ones and I really liked them as friends who care about each other and want to always make each other happy, but, I mean, I can't be too mad at it either because I want Deja to be happy and if Josie's what makes that happen I'm good with it :D (hide spoiler)] Alright WOW did I ramble on! If you've read this too, definitely let me know what you thought!!

This was so so so cute!!! The perfect pick me up especially during my reading slump.

A beautiful tale of finding common interests and learning to value those who put in the effort to value you.
