Rating: 5 Stars - Amazing Lord of the Fading Lands (Tairen Soul #1) by C.L. Wilson was my first read in a new to me genre, fantasy romance. All the characters and this whole series is one of my favorite and most memorable.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book, I was listening to the audiobook so immersed on the story and out of nowhere it was the end... I wasn’t even checking how much time was left of it. It was a bit frustrating because I wanted to know what was next. This is an ADULT ROMANCE book naturally there are sex scenes, this writer in particular is very descriptive(I’m pretty sure there are ones that are even more, but I’m not familiar with it) and made blush at work a couple of times, although there were fewer on this book and that until certain degree made me happy, because you get to apreciate the actual story more. I feel that has a fantasy this book is pretty well structured. It has a stable and consistent world. A magic system tied up to different types of being (races. A hideous villain with so much reach. It covers topic that are not normally discussed such as sexual assaults, human trafficking (in this case magical beings) and the list goes on and on, I kinda like the fact that we get to read heavier themes, it makes it more realistic. I also don’t think it glorifies it, it’s just a consequence of evil. I think my main issue was Ellysetta. I wanted to slap her on the face so bad. She is so considerate of others, but not to herself and he true mate, she keeps putting everyone at risk just to save a life, I know this types of scenes are to show how noble she is. It’s also very frustrating, because it feels as if the enemy has the winning hand and I wanna change that so bad 😂 I really enjoyed this book cannot believe I only have one more left...
