I hate and love the FMC.
If we ever end up in an apocalypse, I am one of the first to unalive myself. Lots of struggle, possibly dying in a horrible way or just generally being a really shit time. No thanks, I don't have any survival skills (I am a software developer, I'd be eaten by zombies within the first day).
And here we finally have a MC who isn't too focused on surviving at all cost and decides a quick death is better than slavery.

Otherwise.. after reading the other 2 novella series.. it feels a little bit repetitive. My fault for reading all 15 or so novellas in 24h.

I think the author is trying too much to add an edge to the female main character. It's refreshing to not have the typical PNR MC... Buuuut.. just too much. I don't need to relate to MCs too much but I don't want to dislike them that much.
