I was extremely disappointed with this book...
I was bored two chapters in and no scenes made it better throughout the rest of the story. 
I haven't finished yet, I have the last few pages, hopefully I can push through that too... 

The main characters: There was no chemistry between them and the banter was mediocre and boring. it was supposed to a bully book but it moved too fast to love and clichés. the main girl had zero character development and the "big changes" she made in her life weren't that big and apparently it is possible to make these great developments overnight with just a change of clothes and a scary guy at your side. 
 Rhys had great potential as a character but when I started this book I expected a bad boy bully. instead I got a sad boy slight bully with daddy issues and constantly referring to himself as St. Augustine's fallen angel was just not it. 

the plot: Admittedly, there was great potential for the plot but it was lost in the sad characters. 
eventually I was skipping paragraphs and pages just to reach the end. the arc with Valentina's parents was so so bad. The dinner scene was so minimum and cringe!! I wonder if I say a few sad swear words with tears, would all my problems would people will go away too???

The side characters: Rhys's "brothers" are supposed to be a big part of his life but there were so little scenes with them!! when they were together, they would just talk crap about women that annoyed me. many things said were just plain disrespectful. 
 They speak of a great trauma bringing them together to be each other's family but as the reader, I never felt that connection or saw it in the five seconds they would appear for a few words. 
 if they were so close, why didn't they make an effort to talk to the girl who apparently makes their "brother" feel so happy and alive. the lack of communication was a turn off point for me.


Overall, there was no sparks in this book for me, and would not recommend it. 
Apparently Sebastian's book is better but I am very two minded on reading it.

Great start to a Dark New Adult, Enemies To Lovers, Bully Romance series that I want more. I adored Valentina as she just would rather not deal with who ever annoys her. To her not worth it, easier to ignore and faster will go away. I loved her character growth, slowly coming to stick up for herself. Rhys is the jerk hero who I could not get enough of his character. He did have some sweet moments I adored. The angst and fun banter so good. I loved all the secondary characters and I need some answers with the plot as Rhys and Valentina story is finished the over all story arc will continue in book 2.

This a big fat DNF that im still counting as a book read because I wasted my time on this. 

The characters were boring and the storyline seems extra cliché and I just don't have time to waste my time reading this when I could be reading a better book.

I skim read most of what I did read cause I want to "finish" it but 🌌No🌌

This book gives off first draft vibes and I wish the author had expanded and given us a more indepth look at the whole catholic school vibe. But what else do you expect from a rushed book??

I knew I wasn't going to like this since a few of my friends told me it sucked and that I was going to hate it, but I wanted to be part of the crowd😩. They're right though. This is not the book or author for me. NEXT.

“Immoral Confessions,” by Author R. Holmes is book one in her Boys of St. Augustine Series. It is a Dark Academy Bully Romance, and it deals with instances of dubious consent. It surrounds the secrets that Rhys and his band of brothers are trying to uncover, whilst surrounded by Valentina being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I was pulled into this world from the beginning, and I couldn’t read through this fast enough. The push and pull that Rhys and Valentina had - and Rhys as dark as he is, found his light and purpose in Valentina. Such an amazing read, and the fact we are set up for the next 3 books in this series was utter perfection! I need more ASAP!

This is a dark bully academy romance with some great vibes and setting. 

The dubcon and sex was great and I’d recommend it for that. The angst and steam in the beginning of the book was where it shined for me. I enjoyed reading it for the most part but was looking for more character development and depth. Some of their decisions had me very confused and they seemed to change on a dime based on external factors. 

I’m looking forward to the rest of the series and recommend it for fans of bully academy and dubcon.
