3.5 ★ - (really liked it) 

A lovely devotional! Didn't agree on a couple of points with the author (just a couple lines in the prayers) but overall was very pleased with the faith content. And, I never thought this would happen... but. I forgave Amy. I have been upset with her for years since reading Little Women. After what she'd done to Jo's book and how spoiled she was, I was firmly against liking her... so I loved that Ms. Dodge really pointed out how she changed. Amy became a confident young woman, rooted in her faith and constantly putting what she learned into practice. I admire her now and have a greater appreciation for the depth of these characters. And besides this I have of course gained encouragement from the devotions, little reminders of how good He is. A most comforting addition to my devotional time. Friendly. Like going over the book with a friend and really unearthing the little lessons Alcott tucked into her beloved novel. I teared up a couple of times at the reminder of some scenes and am reminded that I will likely sob over Little Women, as I did the first time, when I pick it up again. Well done :)
