The frigid waters of the Pacific Northwest are about to get hot... The only thing Navy underwater archaeologist Undine Gray fears more than facing former SEAL Luke Sevick is never scuba diving again. Worse, divers are searching for something lost in US waters during the Cold War, and they'll do anything to keep Luke and Undine from finding it first.

Undine Gray and her team are researching a Cold War-era US Navy submarine that sank in the Salish Sea. While she is at the decompression point underwater, the research vessel explodes leaving her as the only survivor. Even though she is suffering from the bends, she is saved by a man that she never thought she would see again. Former SEAL Luke Sevick is diving off of his NOAA ship when he sees the explosion and saves Undine. Even though Undine ruined his career 12 years before, he still agrees to dive again with her in order to help her overcome her PTSD and fear of diving again. What they find when they dive is more than either of them bargained for, leading them into a mystery that has remained hidden since the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Cold Evidence is well written with plenty of research to add depth to the novel, but not so much as to overwhelm the reader. Revealing that Undine Gray, the protagonist, is at fault for the problems she caused Luke Sevick also adds a level of realism to the story. The unique mystery and some of the twists and turns make this a cut above the average romantic suspense story.
