If there is a happy medium between being a resigned, mildly depressed thirty-six-year-old woman with a thankless job and cheating husband, and being an immortal vampire indulging her lust for blood and sex and her desire for love and excitement, it sure would be nice to find it.

Besides, anticipating the worst-case scenario doesn't prepare you for the worst-case scenario. Just gives you the opportunity to be smug in the face of disaster.

the first half was very boring. the second half was better, and i did enjoy the end.

3.5 stars. A feminist look at the vampire story. I like how Harrison doesn’t shy away from the horror aspect but gives us a deeper story.
