Me being the feminist that I am, I loved this book in so many ways. 
It’s an illustrated collection of short biographies on fifty female pioneers in the STEM field. The stories of these inspiring innovators are accompanied by stunning illustrations.
Elaborating on that, this book was insanely beautiful and the art work and color scheme were so pretty.
I liked all of the little fun facts about each woman in the margins of each of their designated pages.
Every 50 or so pages there would be a 2-page spread of 20 word blurbs about more women and I liked how they included timelines and what was going on in the world at that time.
There were a few things I think could have definitely better. Such as, there is so much more to learn about these women and what they did so I think giving them a 200 word summary just wasn't enough. I understand the short pages to keep reader interest but I would have liked to know more about each woman.

The science in this book was highlighted in this book by what each of the women did. For example, Rosalind Franklin was a chemist and an x-ray crystallographer and in her short biography the authors explained how she used x-ray to discover that DNA has a double helix structure. Barbara McClintock was a cytogeneticist who took an interest in the genetics of corn and grew her own field to then ultimately determine that different colored kernels have the same genes, but they are rearranged in a different order. This led to the conclusion that a gene could "jump" to a different part of a chromosome and turn on and off.
Learning about all of the different things these women did that significantly aided the progression of the science world was very enjoyable and I had such a fun time reading this book

I would recommend this book to any person, that they be young or old, male, female or other... Often times when we think about scientific advancements we think of Albert Einstein, Galilee ans other men, but we forget all the women that fought their way into sciences and brought new visions and discoveries to our understanding of the world. This book beautifully describes 50 of these women, from all times, having accomplished advances in a variety of fields, going from astronomy, to psychology, to biology... It made me discover so many scientists that were hidden behind the name of a male associate or just not talked about. I loved reading this book by Rachel Ignotofsky!
