i discovered the book adaptation from tiktok and when i finally decided to watch it, damn I'm so obsessed with it! I even recommended it to my sister and to my cousin. 

Ive read from the comments that some parts in the book were not included and I was completely blown away when I finished the show— it's like I can't move one from how good it is. My last BL show was 2gether: The Series (Sarawatine) and girl, that was  a long time ago and this show awakened my fan moment. 

Truth to be told, the book is better. While reading it, it feels like I was recollecting the scenes from the show. Thank god, they didn't change a lot of scenes.

It feels sad to know that their secret relationship will probably last for a long time to go, challenges to endure and games to play. I love how downbad Ilya is to Shane and how he's willing to go for Shane whatever it is. I was excited to know what's coming through in the next book (to which I will not read yet until season 2 release).

I got to say, this book did not reel me in during the first few chapters but once the climax (no pun intended) happened and we got to see more layers of Shane and Ilya I was in.

This was a fun read after watching the show! It was cute to get a few additional scenes of Shane and Ilya and I just love their story. I will say after reading, I appreciate the show even more than I did before. Jacob Tierney did an absolutely phenomenal job adapting to TV and stayed incredibly faithful to the text which I found interesting. And the way he blended certain moments together and showcased their relationship was so good. One of the rare times where the book and the show stand equal to me!

She knows I love hokey and spicy romance books, but she told me to read this book, and I fell in love with it. At first, I was on edge about whether I should read it or not because, at the same time, I did not know that the book was BL.

this was a reread. it is not the best romance book writing wise but it is an entertaining story that i got obsessed with. i have some problems with shane’s asian representation and the way he is used in this story but i just love him as a character this is why my rating is quite high. i think ilya is better written and i love him as a character as well. i think this book is very dialogue-y which is also why it’s not perfect but overall i had fun so ! 

the fist half of the book is genuinely terrible like i almost gave up on it a million times. the fact that i can see hudcon playing out scenes definitely helped but i have to remember she came up w the story and not give this 2⭐️

Ok so I obviously love the queer representation (especially in a very competetive and highly masculine sport like hockery), also love the neuro-spicy/clear-consent representation. Yet – a lot of slavic/asian stereotypes are being reproduced, that could be questioned a bit...

I got very curious and I did not regret it. I was a bit slow in finishing this cause I'm easing myself into reading romance again. But this one's a very easy read. 

honestly, i probably wouldn't have even touched this book if it wasn't for the life-changing gay canada hockey show created by the legend jacob tierney. i am forever indebted to him for giving us the beautiful, amazing, wonderful connor storrie and the gorgeous, astounding freak hudson williams.

the book definitely had its cute moments, but actually reading the r18 scenes was a little icky for my silly little soul lol. i really have to give it up to jacob and the whole team, because they stayed true to the heart of the story while actually improving the plot and making it way more coherent.

jumping straight to the long game now because the hollanov/hudcon agenda is consuming my soul. thank you. see u on the other side of the road.

Ame a Shane e Ilya. Ame como esta diagramado el libro en comparación al resto de la saga esto  le da como cierto grado de complejidad con las partes la narrativa tan amplia en termino de tiempo donde transcurre la historia 2007 a 2017 si no me equivoco. Caso que no vuelve a ocurrir en ningun otro libro de la saga.

all i see is people complaining about the smut but i dont careeeee. shane and ilya were perfect from page one. their banter and tension was everything to me. 

i loved how supportive shane’s parents were and how they treated ilya. also ilya moving teams, selling some of his cars and both of them buying houses to be closer to eachother?! god fucking sedate me. 

i love hollanov so much its not even funny. kill me. immediately.
