Such a great read! The world building is intense and atmospheric. Very vibrant and vivid details. The characters are lovable and relatable. I love Roar’s character and how she connects with the other characters. Can’t wait for book three as this one left me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

This was probably one of the easiest 5 stars I have given all year. This magic system is amazing and unique. I love that we have some traditional elemental magic but also the complex storm magic. I read the first book and thought it was amazing but this book far exceed my expectations. I highly recommend this to anyone! Also please tell me when the next book is coming out because I read this one way to fast and now I don’t know what to do!

Roar was published back in 2017 and I still remember the first time I read it. It was magical and so different from anything I’d ever read before. A world destroyed by storms and those with the power to control, fight against and even best storms. But what happens when you’re expected to have the power to fight these storms but you don’t and your kingdom is relying on you or their survival? That was Princess Aurora in Roar. Rora is such a strong female character who decides to take her future into her own hands by leaving her kingdom to find her strength. In Rage we finally get to see the repercussions of what her leaving were.

So I highly suggest re-reading Roar before diving into Rage. It had been about a year since I’d read it and I immediately was lost trying to remember who everyone was. We get the POVs of Aurora, Kiran, Novaya, Cassius and even the Stormlord. I definitely spaced on who Nova, Cassius and the Stormlord even were. It was also a struggle to recall what exact kind of powers Rora even had. There was really no summary of what happened last book and I feel like that could’ve been a bit helpful, but then again I was slacking on my preparation on reading Rage. Once I got the e-ARC I needed to start it ASAP.

Rage is such a strong female emphasis book. Besides Aurora there was Jinx and Nova who really came into her own this book and will be such an asset in the third book. We also were introduced to Zephyr who has powers of her own but it also just smart in using being a female to her advantage to gain information. While there are a lot of men in the books, a lot of them blur into the background or are more for muscle power. It's the girls that run the show. Even between the dynamic of Aurora and Kiran this holds true. He assists her in whatever she needs, whether she asks for it or not, but always in her interest and never undermining her no matter how he's feeling at different times in the book.

The pace of Rage was a bit slow compared to Roar and I did find myself wanting to race forward at times. It felt like a lot happened but looking back nothing really happened at all. I feel like this book fell into the slump that most second books in trilogies do. It didn't really have much action until the end aka the last 10% or so. While we learned a lot of what had happened since Aurora had left it felt more like a set-up for the final book. 

Final Thoughts:
Aurora is a bad ass and that ending? *Swoon* Not a fan of love triangles but for once I'm praying for one. Who doesn't want a bad boy that's only good for you? Sign me up. There are also a few plot lines I'm interested to follow into the next book. I need answers now which is quite unfortunate since this book was about 2 years in the making. I pray for Carmacks' health and until then I'll be re-reading Roar.

Our beloved author Cora Carmack was diagnosed with epilepsy and is currently trying to find the medication that works best for her. 

She is going through a lot right now, so maybe send her some encouraging words on twitter, goodreads, instagram or any other platform you can think of and let her know that even though we are anxiously waiting for her masterpiece-of-a-sequel RAGE, her health is beyond important and we are all rooting for her to get better.

WHY THE CHANGE IN RELEASE DATE THO

As a huge fan of the Stormheart series, I was so excited to get my hands on an ARC of Rage. It was perfectly timed that I read this book right before getting my newest tattoo, inspired by the first Stormheart book Roar.

Once again, we're introduced to the fantastical world of Pavan, with characters we know and love. However, this time, we're introduced to even more characters. Ones that we've easily become attached to, or ones that we've began to really hate.

The Stormlord was even more prevalent in this novel, but I found his parts in this book to be annoying and unneeded. It really felt like his parts were just filler chapters, and I found myself wanting to skip over them a lot.

In this novel, it becomes necessary for Roar to expose herself to her team. Something that you could really feel from everyone in that moment was the pain and misunderstanding. You could feel the decisions you made within you, but you also had wonders about, "what if they hadn't done that? What would've happened then?"

This book was full of surprises, drama, love, and excitement. It had sadness, pain, and anguish. While I loved this book, I think that the Stormlord's additions damaged it.

For everything listed, I rate this novel 4 stars.

Roar is really coming into her own powers here and I loved it. I love the unique magic of using storms as magic. 

Nova was a bit irritating. 

Cassius is my favorite I love him please be good to him.
