I am not even finding myself qualified to write a review for this emotional roller coaster. This Rahul Pandita's memoir is a heart breaking true story of exodus of Kashmiri pandits happened during 1990s. This book is unbiased and silent but it contains burning pain of thousands of kashmiri pandits. that Feeling of loosing home permanently for rest of their lives, that feeling when her mother says,' Our home in kashmir has twenty-two rooms.', that feeling when you are exodus in your own country are the true blood clots to our country actually. It has shaken my soul when I put myself in the times of exile and the times of brutality caused to a minor communities by anti-social elements in Kashmir. It evokes so many emotions, emotions like You almost doubt the very existence of humanity.

Horrifying and heartbreaking. 

To talk about the writing, the context and the timelines felt a bit confusing to me. Towards the end - part three where the author enters the narrative as a journalist, the narration somehow gets better. 

The lack of proper historical context, among other things, gives the narrative the feel of being one sided. The author makes it seem like that all the Muslim residents of Kashmir around 1990 were out to get them, from their milkman to their friends and neighbors. If true, that is sad. But all this doesn't make their experiences, their suffering any less real.
