The task of evangelism looks different if we think in this  transformed way. Rather than trying to learn all of the right words, have all of the right booklets, anticipate all of the right questions, and memorise all of the right intros and Scripture, we should approach evangelism with wisdom. This means that we become people who incarnate the gospel and speak of it freely because our hearts and minds have been captivated by it. Becoming people of wisdom and compassion is the prerequisite for any evangelistic technique.

Faced with a similar situation, we should try to bring the true nature of someone's “arguments" to the surface, by posing questions: "Why are you bringing up these things?" Are you asking these questions because you really want an answer?" If I give you an answer to this question, would you be convinced that Christianity is true?" "What's the biggest issue that prevents you from being a Christian?" "Are you willing to read something that I think answers your question?" Until someone is more interested in truth than in airing his or her own opinions, it's best to talk about the weather.
