Gleam The Plated Prisoner Series III
Reviews

Okay definitely not my favorite but I was eating it up, nonetheless. I will say that I had to skip some of the spicy scenes bc they weren’t doing it for me:,(. But very fun. (I only skimmed through Malina’s pages, if I’m going to be honest here)

YUP

okay, i was getting bored of this particular book because it felt like it was just about a bunch of people walking around a castle and that nothing was happening. HOWEVER, the ending was pretty strong. and there was a twist that i didn’t see (which is shocking because i easily foretold book 1 and 2’s twists). these books are definitely not “””good””” even though they’re trying desperately to be. but im having a good time.

now THIS is what I’m talking about. Definitely the best book in the series so far BY FAR. The metaphors that hit you in the face and the connections that finally click in to place make this story interesting from start to finish. And the spice and romance is delectably satiating

This series has a grip on my heart, soul, and personality. I love Slade so much. Best fantasy love interest of all time. I probably will say more when I’m not experiencing book hangover. But for now, simply: ahhjhhhhhhhhhhh

** spoiler alert ** 3.5/5 I'm really hooked up about this series, like really, but these are just some things that I personally don't like, and I think this series would be a lot better without. I thought the chapters from Queen Malina's point of view would end in the last book, but they were still here, and I don't know, but I just don’t care about her, so I basically skipped her point of view. The same goes for chapters from King Midas point of view, I understand they are in some ways important, but I really don't care what he thinks when the only thing I want is his death. I wish there were povs from Rip's friends / soldiers from the Fourth Kingdom, I love these people. "I can’t wait to see the rest of you. You’re so much more than what you let yourself be." “Don’t,” I whisper. “I won’t let him make you into the villain.” A gaze as sharp as thorns hooks into me, holds me hostage. “I told you, I’ll be the villain for you.” Resolve bolsters my spine. “Yes. But so will I.” With most of the books I'm like, “wow, I really don't know how they're going to handle this situation". I had the exact opposite with this book, I had the feeling that some situations could have played out differently and they chose a longer and worse way, like damn I was mad in some moments. Now to our main character Auren, I totally understand her trauma and what she went through in her life, but I really thought there will be some improvement. I was very sad when she returned to King Midas and it took her so long to run away from him. Girl you literally have more power than him and the most powerful king on your side!!! Finally, in this book we have more romantic scenes between King Ravinger and Auren. The smutty scenes were honestly so hot and I love that they were long, it was worth to wait for them. The ending made this book for me, I was almost crying from happiness when she killed King Midas. I love women rage in books.

There are no words to describe this book. I smiled, I giggled, I sobbed. It was a real rollercoaster. I hope you are ready for this because the amount and intensity of events happening in this book is truly overwhelming. One of the best books I’ve ever read.

This one kept me on the edge of my fucking seat. I laughed and I cried. I loved this one. Still a simp for Rip. ❤️

** spoiler alert ** Going into this book we find out Rip and king Rot are the same man. I thought maybe it would take another book before we got to see them fall in love and finally give in to each other. Finally she came to him before she lost him. I was not expecting the twist at the end it got me because the extent of the deception and the lies that all came out. I can’t wait to see where this story goes. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

Five stars ngl was the best yet, i ugly cried a lot in this book but could not love the ending more. Again very very graphic please do check the trigger warnings

Hey husband😙

Spoilers ahead
This is my favorite book of this series by far because finally after two books we get a decent plot ! Auren has some spectacular character development and I was there for it. I actually liked some of the other characters more as well, especially Slade. I kind of prefer Slade to Rip even though if you know you know. I liked the ending more than the rest of the book and I was beyond happy that Auren finally stood up for herself against Midas

CHEF KISS, FIVE STARS I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK THE BEST OF ALL, CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE NEXT this book has it all, I loved all of Auren's growth, how she realized how Midas was manipulating her all her life and how she tries to save herself from it. I liked all the political history and all the drama. I loved the end, GOD THAT END the idiot Midas got what he deserved, ASSHOLE! AND FINALLY SLADE/RIP, OMG I NEED THAT MAN IN MY LIFE I BELIEVE IN AURENSLADE SUPREMACY

This is so far the best book in this series. Finally after two books we actually see some stuff happening. Auren finally let's go of Midas and starts to be her own character and we learn so much more about her. Just like with the other books in this series the writing was good and the characters loveable, Auren especially. I loved Slade more than I did Rip even though ( if you know you know ) I won't say more because I don't want to spoil it. I don't have much else to say about this book, the ending was really good and it was probably the best part of this entire book. One thing though is that most say that this series is really spicy and while there is two spice scenes in Gleam the previous books have no spice only some really dark messed up stuff and loads of trauma which definitely needs TW/s

I LOVE THE PLOT TWISTS

3.5/5 Stars I read all three of the Plated Prisoner books really quickly and thoroughly enjoyed them. Wasn’t so sure with the first one feeling like it should have been a prequel novella, but the second and third vastly improved! The only reason I’m rating this 3.5/5 rather than 4 is because the spice wasn’t it for me. The way it’s written seemed out of place and almost out of character?—And maybe that’s just because it’s a lot more vulgar and less allusive than other NA fantasies that I’m used to, but it had me cringing and with full blown second-hand embarrassment in a few places. But to each their own! Still a fun read and I’m excited for the continuation of the series.

Honestly, like nothing actually happens in these books and the themes are elementary level but with insane amounts of dark trauma with NO trigger warnings anywhere. I will read the next one because I’m too invested in the story and I do like the main character a lot. It’s just… can we get like more scenes with the fun characters instead of our main girl only experiencing trauma the ENTIRE 600 pages

3.75 ⭐️

This book is not terrible, you’ll want to keep reading because you want to find out what happens. But the smut is absolutely horribly written and the writing itself is reaching for poetic but falling extremely short, often being more eye roll enduring than anything else. Will I finish this series absolutely. Will I recommend it to anyone… probably not.

I’m so happy I stuck with this series because I ended up really loving it. I cannot wait for the next book to come out! I fell in love with the characters and how unique and interesting they were. I admire Auren and all she’s been through and her growth through the series. Rip has got to be one of my favorite book guys!

Good grief. Crying screaming throwing up.

This is definitely the best book of the series. I loved the little plot twist in the end and Auren coming into herself, believing in herself was great character development. Also LOVE slade.

We tell ourselves twisted lies to tangle around our wicked truths, all so that we can get caught up in the bind and not have to face bare regrets.

“No, thanks,” I reply curtly, enjoying the flash of frustration that goes through his eyes. “But I’ll curtsy for you instead, Your Moldering Majesty.”

That’s the thing about escapism. In whatever form, it always ends, and then we’re forced back into a reality that’s not nearly as satisfying.
