Glint The Plated Prisoner Series II

Ass

Very solid! Beautiful world that’s built. Some of the interactions Auren has make me cringe a little, but overall, SUPER fun read. A little better than the first book bc of the side characters introduced.

DELISH

having the most fun reading this series, everything that i thought would happen is happening and yet i can’t stop reading. it’s giving very much throne of glass, but replace assassins with sex workers. also basically nothing happens in this particular book, yet i was eating it up????? it’s definitely giving breaking dawn pt 1 where literally nothing happens and you’re like “hm breaking dawn could’ve just been one movie, we didn’t need to split it up into two parts”

2.5-3 stars. I feel like book 1 and 2 could have been combined for a faster story, cause not a lot happened. I still enjoyed the read, but feel like there is much to be desired?

Better than the first book. I dislike the Cold Queen. Is the surprise really a surprise? I think all twists and turns are predictable. But an easy read and fun.

how did this book pass editing??

4/5 Okay wow, the second book is definitely better than the first one. Finally, there are more new interesting characters that I know I will like, and of course our main love interest is introduced. I just know I will be obsessed with him. Our main character, Auren, has finally started to understand some things ( even if it happened almost at the end ), and I hope that in the next book, she will stop being manipulated anymore. It could be better if not the chapters from Queen Malina perspective, but I guess they are kinda important to the story - still don’t won’t to read them though. Now the plot twist, well, I figured it out in the middle of the book, but I still liked it and I can't wait for the next book "Sometimes,” he murmurs, “things need first to be ruined in order to then be remade.” "How did I mistake an owner for a lover?"

A M A Z I N G
Way better than the first book from all aspects. I loved the way Kennedy plotted the new characters but also how the thoughts and the feelings of the main character are described. The tension and plot twists had me on the edge of my seat. Definitely recommend for anyone who likes fantasy but has read the most popular bestsellers. For who is reading this and is maybe hesitant after the first book; I promise you the next books are where the series really takes off and although the first book isn’t the best in the series in aspects of plot I find it necessary for the upcoming rollercoaster.

This one was infinitely better than the first one. Rip has my whole soul.

** spoiler alert ** Im absolutely loving this story! I can’t stop listening, it has me awestruck and I find myself literally stopping whatever I’m doing just to listen harder to make sure I’m hearing every word. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥😍😍😍🖤🖤🖤🖤 Finally Auren has started to find herself and see the light. That she was always only a tool for kind Midas to gain riches. (When she begs to be let out but he refuses because it’s for her own good!!! I don’t think so. Your done!) Hopefully this thing she has with Rip turns into something beautiful I am so excited to see what happens next in their story!!!!

It's getting better but it's very graphic so do check the trigger warnings

I did enjoy reading this book but it did feel a little pointless to me. Just like with Gild, nothing actually happened until the last few chapters. Alot of the scenes were a repeat of the characters traveling across the different kingdoms and not really doing much else. Aurens character development was much needed but besides her, I didn't feel much for any of the other characters

4.5 stars ✨

Omg fucking Rip

Better than the first one, but still didn’t enjoy the book that much. Dunno if I would keep reading the series.

I enjoyed this book more than I did with the first one but just like Gild not much happened in this book. Most of this book the characters spent traveling across the kingdoms and while there was some significant parts in Glint I feel like this book and Gild could have been written into one book. There was parts I really enjoyed like learning more about Aurens past, the scenes with Auren and Rip and all the character growth that Auren had. I've loved Auren from the first book but she finally starts embracing herself and growing out of Midas's clutches.
This book had a nice slow burn, loveable side characters and a couple new twists and turns. Towards the end of the book I had an small idea about who a certain character really is but I was still shocked nonetheless

Not much happened the entire book, there was a mayor plot twist at the end that I kinda saw coming. Despite that, I enjoyed the book a lot. This book made 400 pages of traveling fun and I did not hate it for a second. Also, these side characters are great. Also, the saddles can rot in hell tbh. Rissa is the only one I can handle

there wasn’t a huge plot to it, was better than the first one. Loved Aurens character development however

3.5/5 ⭐️

4.25 ⭐️ This was SOOO much better than the first book. So easy to read and addictive. Definitely a good read for ACOTAR fans.

Liked this one more than the first, but I’ve notice not much is actually happening in either book so far, mainly stagnant periods, but I like the characters and will be continuing the series! Also is it just me or did anyone else start picturing Midas as Gollum for LOTR as soon as he referred to her as “his precious”?

Book two has officially hooked me. I am in love with this book and it’s characters. There so much more character growth and depth. And while the plot is predictable, I’m enjoying the slow burn and reveals. I’m so emotional right now 😭 I hate that I have to go work and can’t just binge read the next book all day!

There’s safety in loneliness, but there’s a lurking danger too. One that doesn’t come from anything other than yourself.
Chapter 12, Glint, Raven Kennedy

Plotting is what I’m best at. A good thing too, since I lack both of the traits that this world respects: power and a penis.

“Sometimes,” he murmurs, “things need first to be ruined in order to then be remade.”

“We’re all captives of something, even things we don’t want to admit to.”

Whatever family I once had is gone forever. I wish I’d known that night was the last time I’d ever see them. I would’ve hugged my father a little bit tighter.
Bloody hell, why is it always the most unexpected quotes absolutely crushing me

“We’ve been traveling, just the two of us, for a couple months now. Thought you might be getting bored of me,” I tease, but there’s always a hint of question there, always an edge of self- doubt. I still don’t understand why someone like him bothers with someone like me.
The first time, Auren felt relatable? Yes.

Time changes with torment. It stretches on, lengthening 1,637 highlighters seconds, extending minutes. I've learned that pain and fear have a way of prolonging. And as if that weren't cruel enough, our minds make sure we relive those moments again and again and again, long after they've passed. What a bastard, time is.

The fact that he's so unworried, worries me. It seems like a weakness, if I'm honest. The intelligent are always considering the what-ifs, the could-happens. Our minds a constant spin of possibilities and outcomes. If you don't worry, you're either a fool or you've been fooled.
Playing different scenarios in my head that will likely never happen is one of my greatest qualifications 🥇

“We’re women in a man’s world. I’m sure you know how that is. We have two options. The first is, we can conform. Be what they want, act to please. It’s the safe option. Option two is harder. It’s harder for us. There will always be someone who will try to make us choose option one. But don’t. Don’t lie down to make it easier for the world to keep you under its thumb. Own your shit and choose yourself.”
Did I mention that I love books with badass female characters? 🤌🏼

“You’re ruining me,” I whisper, cold air brushing against my face like a sorrowful kiss. I don’t hear him come closer, but I feel it. How could I not? There’s something in him that keeps pressing against my skin, keeps demanding my every sense to awaken. “Sometimes,” he murmurs, “things need first to be ruined in order to then be remade.” A heartbeat pulses in that peeking star.

Fire burns in my chest, steaming my eyes. "I hate you." Rip tilts his head. “Your anger is misplaced, but I like it," he says with a feral grin, sharp canines gleaming. "Every time you let it leak out just a little bit more, I can see you better, Goldfinch."

I’ve found that some smells are strings tied around memories. When you catch certain scents, those strings pull taut. Like a boat being brought to dock, forced to float in the sentiment.
