Good plot just not executed as well as it could be , most of it was written like mid range fanfiction and it hasn't left me wanting to continue with the series as much as other books

           I heard about this on tiktok many times but then I started reading it and to be honest, I was disappointed.

Main character was found at a door, main character is treted badly, main character is special but doesn't know it. Main character meets someone who brings her to people that are similar to but she is still special to them too. And she doesn't know they're similar yet. Everyone likes her, she gets harrassed (and worse), there's a traitor. She finds out about what she is, the others find out, she is queen and she ends up with some guy(s). 

That's how you write a basic fantasy story. Mix some spicy scenes in there and you have booktok going crazy. 

I'm not saying it's bad. It's just overused and it's kinda boring after you've read it a few times. 

I could already roughly guess what would happen. 

As soon as you knew there was a lost female draken, you knew it was her. Actually, you could even guess it before.
As soon as she went with Benedict, you knew they would end up together, the same goes for Kieran and Ronan when she saw them in the arena.
Since the moments we met them, I thought you couldn't trust D'Arcy and Bair and guess what? I was right.

I'm also dissapointed, not surprised though, by how the main character just let's Benedict hurt her. In the beginning she stabs him when she thinks she's about to hit her but afterwards she just doesn't do anything. Sure, she grew up in a bad situation, but that even makes me question it more. 
Where did she get the reaction to stab someone when they're about to hit her when she's been hit so many times in the past and couldn't do anything? 
And why would she trust someone like that - who doesn't treat her much better than the man she worked for - to be her mate? How would she feel comfortable around him? And why would she be loyal to him?

I wouldn't recommend this book for anyone who's looking for anything better than a Wattpad-story. 
You won't be surprised by anything, maybe it could help you sleep if you have problems with that.
I won't be reading the second book.
Even the cliffhanger is bad.

So much potential but it just didn't live up to my expectations. The bones for an amazing fantasy series were there but things that should have been expanded upon were rushed through and things that should have been short had a lot of time spent on them. There were a lot of awkward info dumping that even the narrator acknowledges seems weird which just makes it even more obvious. Really disappointed because this seemed super interesting.
