Gordo, witch of the Bennett werewolf pack, tries to ignore Mark and the song howling between them. But something is coming, and this time it's crawling from within....

A Green Creek Novel

Ravensong

The beloved fantasy romance sensation by New York Times bestselling author TJ Klune, about love, loyalty, betrayal, and joy. The Bennett family has a secret: They're not just a family, they're a pack. Ravensong is Gordo Livingstone's story. Gordo Livingstone never forgot the lessons carved into his skin. Hardened by the betrayal of a pack who left him behind, he sought solace in the garage in his tiny mountain town, vowing never again to involve himself in the affairs of wolves. It should have been enough. And it was, until the wolves came back, and with them, Mark Bennett. In the end, they faced the beast together as a pack... and won. Now, a year later, Gordo has found himself once again the witch of the Bennett pack. Green Creek has settled after the death of Richard Collins, and Gordo constantly struggles to ignore Mark and the song that howls between them. But time is running out. Something is coming. And this time, it’s crawling from within. Some bonds, no matter how strong, were made to be broken. The Green Creek Series is for adult readers. Now available from Tor Books.

I know I’ll be reading these books again before this year ends. They’re so great and that’s my new FamilyLovePack.

Ravensong: Green Creek Book 2

I am so completely invested in this series. This pack deserves some peach and I hope by the end of it, they find it!

Gordo and Mark’s story was one full of heartbreak and love and finding their way back to each other…. And it was fucking perfect in how much it hurt.

It's the vampire diaries if it were gay werewolves. Do I think its a masterpiece? No, but I'll also eat it up at 4 am instead of finishing that assignment due yesterday

Well…It was better than the first one. My feelings of it being so unhinged it’s addictive still stands. Again, Klune does great with angst. There’s great moments of dialogue and prose/description littered throughout the book. The relationship and struggles between the MCs were better written and more interesting than the first book. Some parts even made emotional this time. But, a lot of my complaints from the first book bleed over into this one. The age gap between Mark and Gordo…I still don’t understand the choice to make these characters not be the same age. I really don’t think the story would suffer at all if Klune had decided that from the get-go. The human male side characters are borderline insufferable (the comic relief annoyed me, and I felt like it slowed the story down) and are so similar it’s hard to remember who is who. The first 25% of this book was very slow. I’m not a fan of books that recap things from a different character’s POV. I usually get very bored of it pretty quickly. After the 25% mark, it picks up though. I’m hoping the writing style will continue to improve in the next and final books.

A bit more fanservice and predictable than the first, but still a great novel. This is shaping to be one of my favourite fantasy series.

Second books in a series always make me nervous, and especially so when they’re about a character(s) that weren’t necessarily standouts to me in the first book.

BUT.

Gordo’s rough exterior was completely explained in this one and it really endears you to him more. His and Mark’s story isn’t one of easy or complete fluff; it was was raw and painful and chaotic, but somehow perfect.

I thought the continuation of the storyline from book one was really well done—Ox and Joe are still very much a part of the narrative, but they don’t overshadow what this book’s focus is. And the Epilogue!!! Eeeeek.

As always: I love the Bennett pack.

2nd time and I had remembered much less than I thought I would have so it was almost like a first time read. And I think I loved it even more this time around.

Gordo is literally a Tortured Hero and he more than earns those capital letters.

My first finished book of 2021! We are off to a GREAT start.
