The whole novel felt like a massive set up for the new big war. Still very entertaining and easy to listen to. I read this via audiobook.

Engrossing in its plot, but lacks the epic scope that its predecessor, Magician, offered. Feist opens up Midkemia further to reveal more realms, but limits himself in developing his mostly one dimensional characters. Good fantasy, nonetheless.
