4.5 stars This was not a drama filled romance where the hero and heroine denied their feelings and I liked it. There was conflict but it really wasnโt between Xeni and Mason. The relationship worked and I appreciated the acceptance (no yucking yums). I thoroughly enjoyed how Xeni and Mason communicated and vibes with each other and there was definitely some heat!

Xeni is cute and beautiful and I fell in love with all the characters. This is my second book from this author and I freely admit that she has a knack for creating characters so confident in their skin, it is awe-inspiring. I love that her books never follow the good old template and she's not scared of creating characters that don't have everything figured out. Ordinarily, I only like the "marriage-for-convenience" trope when it is done in a historical romance and to date, I haven't read any contemporary romance with this trope that was properly executed. This book went over and beyond and wowed me. If you thought Rafe was steamy and the stuff dreams are made of, you might need to read Xeni as well. The sex scenes were oh so so hot and the steam was at heavenly proportions. I couldn't sit still because I was squirming so bad! They're so open with each other and readily communicate with each other and I believe that's what makes their relationship so enviable. Even with all these praises, I still had a few complaints about this book. Firstly, the female protagonist (Xeni) wasn't described properly so all I could get was a vague reference to her height (there was a scene where Mason knelt to go down on her or something and he was eye-level with her chest. WHILE KNEELING!! Basically, she's short), her caramel/brown skin, and her full and thick hair. Aside from this, all the characters complimented her and she was called gorgeous on several occasions. Yet, no explicit description of her features. Secondly, the conflicts in the book felt manufactured and I couldn't relate with some of their struggles because it was a hole they dug and then went into it. The mother-not-my-real-mother plot could have been well explored throughout the book rather we follow Xeni and Mason doing the mundane of things or fucking their brains out. Excellent. The time that could have easily been used to fleshen-out the plot regarding her birth was wasted on hours of fucking. I enjoyed this book and even the minor hiccups won't stop me from recommending it to others! It's a really good book. I listened to it on Scribd and the narrator made it such a comfortable listen and his Scottish accent was so nicely done. I can't wait for other books in the series (Megan's story pleasseeeeee!!!) And I will be thinking of the hot and steamy scenes well into the future

review to come, but wow i loved this book so much

so conflicted over this book. the characters were really likable but there is genuinely no tangible plot beyond forced marriage and some light family drama. this would have been fine had the relationship not been insta love, which took away all of the much needed tension that makes the romance interesting. the writing was good and the characters were fun but i was just so bored

Xenia aunt Sable passes away and leaves her 23 million dollars and all of her estate. In order to receive the money she has to marry a Scottish man named Mason who she only met at the aunts funeral. They decide why not they could both use the money but only for 30 days. This story was so utterly sweet it made my heart warm. We get to see Xeni go through the grieving process of losing her aunt then finding out her aunt is actually her mother and thatโs a lot of emotions to process. The entire time Mason was nothing but patient, kind, mindful, selfless and just an all around joy to be around. Heโs had a rocky past with his family which ainโt Sanke knew about and she thought him and Xeni could help heal each other & that they absolutely did. The fact that these two were both biracial hit differently & it was established very early on that they both were and there was acceptance on both sides. AGAIN this book has no annoying miscommunication trope or 3rd act break up. I love reading books about adults who can communicate and work through issues effectively. Xeni was everything Mason needed and vice versa, these two complimented each other very well. Can we talk about the fact that this man is a musician and a chef?! And heโs dominant in the bedroom even while getting pegged?! Yeah I donโt need to say anymore that shit was hot. New kink unlocked ๐I absolutely adored this book and I canโt wait for the rest in the series.

4.5 stars. I read this on a flight recently after Milina raved about it, and I was not disappointed. Reading about a woman pegging her marriage-of-convenience husband while at 30,000 feet was a truly excellent choice on my part. When Xeniโs aunt dies, she leaves a few very specific requests for Xeni in her will. One of which is that in order to claim her sizeable inheritance, she must marry Mason, a hot Scottish man who had become friends with her aunt before she passed. Neither of them can pass up the opportunities the money would bring, so they say fuck it and get married. Something I love about Rebekah Weatherspoonโs writing is how mature and communicative her characters are. They still feel the whole range of feelings, they just do so in an open and honest wayโwhich makes the relationship feel much more grounded and genuine. And that trust and communication really comes into play when Xeni pegs Mason, which was one of the hottest scenes ever. Iโm talking spicy scene hall of fame, folks. Go read this, thank me later.

That was some good quality shit

I really enjoyed this book. It was a very cute and predictable kind of love story. I really didnโt see how it was โa marriage of inconvenienceโ since they seem to enjoy the time that they spent together. There was no awkwardness between them. It was simple, cute and funny. I can totally picture how Xeni was drooling over his accent, I wouldโve too. Also, he was such a sweetheart. I really like this giant of a man. It was steamy as hell. I wasnโt wowed but, again, it was really easy to read and enjoyable. Give it a try if you like this type of romance book.

I was ecstatic to see someone awesome in my county library system must have requested Xeni for print purchase! I was going to do it but they beat me to the punch! A lovely examination of a contemporary "arranged marriage" between a grieving woman who recently lost her beloved aunt and also finds out her family has been hiding major secrets, and the sweet and burly Scotsman who she must marry for a month in order for her to secure them both a large inheritance. Sweet as pie and kinky too, this is a perfect read for these hard times. CW for death of loved ones (off page)
