Ich bin ein großer Fan von The 100. Die TV-Serie hat es mir ebenso angetan, wie die Buchreihe und da beide nur sehr lose Ähnlichkeiten haben, hat jedes Format seine Vor- und Nachteile. An der Buchreihe gefielen mir besonders die Charaktere. Clarke ist mir deutlich sympathischer als ihr Serienzwilling und besonders mochte ich darüber hinaus Glass, die in der TV-Serie gar nicht vorkommt. Die ersten drei Bücher boten kurzweilige Unterhaltung, die ich sehr genossen habe und fast schon war ich traurig, Abschied von der Buchreihe zu nehmen. Dann jedoch kam die Info, dass die Reihe um Band 4 erweitert werden soll. Trotz Skepsis freute ich mich sehr auf den Folgeband. Dennoch sollte meine Skepsis einen guten Grund gehabt haben: Rebellion hat mich maßlos enttäuscht.
In der ursprünglichen Trilogie wurden alle Konflikte gelöst, wir verlassen die 100 mit einem Happy End und auch die Charaktere haben aus ihren Fehlern gelernt. Diese zwei Punkte, die am Ende einer Trilogie durchaus positiv sind, stellen genau das Problem dar, das ich mit Band 4 hatte. Es gibt zum einen keine Charakterentwicklung. Sehr schade, denn diese stand in den letzten Büchern immer sehr im Fokus. Dort wurde die Vergangenheit aufgearbeitet und auch die Schwächen der Charaktere mussten überwunden werden, um überleben zu können. Dementsprechend bleiben die uns bekannten Charaktere sehr blass und wirken teilweise schon langweilig. Eine Tatsache, über die auch Story und Konflikt nicht hinwegtrösten konnten.
Denn auch der Konflikt wurde für den vierten Teil wieder neu erzeugt. Aus heiterem Himmel findet sich eine weitere Gruppe Erdgeborene, die einer religiösen Sekte gleichkommt. Diese taucht aus dem Nichts aus und schafft den neuen Konflikt nur dadurch, dass sie einige der 100 entführen bzw. töten. Dazu gehören Wells und Glass und wir erfahren somit aus deren Sicht, wie es den Entführten ergeht. Auf der anderen Seite machen sich Bellamy und Clarke auf den Weg, um die anderen zu retten. Für mich war der Konflikt völlig an den Haaren herbei gezogen und er besaß so auch nicht die nötige Tiefe, um wirklich interessant und gut durchdacht zu sein. Man merkt ihm und dem ganzen Buch an, dass es so nicht geplant war und das Buch selbst wirkt wie ein Stück, das nachträglich angeklebt wurde, um mit dem Erfolg der TV-Serie zu gehen. Leider geht so einiges an Charme der Trilogie verloren und Kass Morgan hätte es aus meiner Sicht bei den ersten drei Büchern bleiben lassen sollen. 
Fazit: Rebellion kann bei Weitem nicht mit den vorangegangenen Büchern der Reihe mithalten. Man merkt, dass es nachträglich geplant wurde und so fehlt die nötige Verknüpfung zu den ersten drei Büchern, die Charaktere wirkten blass und entwickelten sich nicht weiter und auch der Konflikt entstand aus dem Nichts und war so nicht gut durchdacht. Für mich leider eine Enttäuschung und selbst Fans der Buchreihe und TV-Serie kann ich keine Empfehlung mitgeben.

I really enjoyed this book, but I did have some mixed feelings. I thought it was good, but kind of unnecessary to the series. The third book ended nicely. I was satisfied. This book ended satisfyingly, but at times it was slow and boring. Overall, it was really good - I did give it 4 stars, but it was almost a 3 star book because it just wasn't the best out the series. I think the redeeming qualities were Bellamy's and Clarke's perspectives. I wasn't a fan of the majority of Wells' or Glass' except for the beginning and the end, probably because their perspectives were the slowest until the end. I thought the cult was an interesting addition but at the same time, I didn't like the cult. Overall, a really good book, but I just wasn't a fan of the whole book like the series but I still loved it and wholeheartedly believe it does deserve the 4 stars, but I really hope this is the last book.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would ! The story is quite fast-paced and kept me entertained throughout. I do think it's missin a wow factor to make it truly amazing. I do enjoy the characters and I do think this was the best installement in the series.

The beginning is slow, really slow. I had a pretty hard time with that. The story is also a bit far-fetched for me? New people and cults and all that keep coming out of nowhere? 
But then the characters, they make up for the story. Their emotions are so realistic and relatable. Their relationships are so true. It's a dark story filled with love and it works. And we finally have a LGBTQ+ relationship!. 
The interactions between these characters feel so pure and human. These relationships make Them feel more like real teens. They have struggles, they have regrets And they learn to love themselves and each other. 
The ending is really cute as well. And it feels finished. I was scared that i wouldn't have enough with 4 books but it feels like a completed story.
I'm pretty satisfied with the ending to this series and i was really invested in the second part of this book!
