What a great start to a new series. Jonas and Ginny are totally root worthy characters. Ms. Bailey has taken the rules of vampires and tweaked it to make it hers. 

I was totally enthralled with story and sad when it was over. There are funny moments to go along with the steamy moments (think Bella and Edward on their honeymoon but way hotter) along with some intrigue. Quite simply, I loved it. 

Can’t wait to read the next book!

Ugh good Lord almighty. This was delightful. It did read almost like watching twilight but BETTER. Freaking loved Jonas , if i want a tall, sexy, vampire husband he is the one. Unfortunately for me Vampires don’t exist. Anyway, Im off to consume more of Tessa bailey’s books. ✌🏻

A fun, if slightly uneven, paranormal "rom-com" from the Queen of Dirty Talk Tessa Bailey. For a first attempt at a PNR, this was a good first and I will definitely read more in this series.

The world building was okay, but setting it up took up some page time that made the overall romance suffer a bit for me. Also, while we do get both characters POV, we are mainly in Ginny's POV except for a few chapters. I missed getting to see more of Jonas's motivation especially since he is the vampire in the story and could perhaps have better built the world for the reader.

This is also very "insta-love" and there's discussion of fated mates combined with a very "Bella & Edward" conflict about not turning Ginny into a vampire because she'd lose everything.

That said, this is a stunning cover, a fun story, and I'm very intrigued about some of the secondary characters we were introduced to, most especially the badass Vampire slayer who has some major sexual tension with one of the other vampires.

I treated myself and bought the paperback.

This was the perfect escapism book to read. The world and characters were so light and funny. Although I’m not usually a fan of insta-love, it made sense with these characters.

Also, I thoroughly enjoyed Ginny and Roksana’s friendship. I’m glad that Tessa Bailey fit their banter into this story.

3.5-4 stars!! I loved Jonas and Ginny - if you love Tessa’s contemporaries, you will more than likely fall in love with these two. We’ve got an alpha, obsessed hero and a quirky, adorable heroine (who’s a freaking mortician!), both of which Tessa can write fabulously. It’s just that this time, one’s a vampire and they both happen to be fated mates. But as much as I adored these characters, I wanted the vampire world to be fleshed out a little bit more because I see so much potential in it! Still, I really hope this won’t be TB’s only PNR and I am very much hoping we get a book for Elias and Roksana.

I discovered Tessa Bailey last year and have been a major fan since then of her writing. She converted this soul into loving the real kind of dirty talk 😍 I hate that this is followed by a "but". But I was not completely impressed by this novel.

Here we have Ginny, who works at a funeral home, and is tending to one of the dead bodies, when suddenly, the eyes open and the person is totally alive! Jonas knows it was a prank from his roommates and he's ready to erase the memory of himself from Ginny's mind, but there's a strong pull there that he can't seem to back away from.

I think my major problem here were the characters. I found the entire story to be superficial. I was honestly getting bored at every turn. Ginny was a bland character I couldn't care for at all. Jonas was on the better receiving end from my feelings, but again, not much to say there.

Most of the time, I found the story going in circles and super repetitive. Not a whole lot was happening for the majority of the novel, which I was not expecting. In my opinion, this is more of a romance, with the slightest tough of vampirism added to it. Normally, I'd be all for the romance, but it wasn't even memorable.

I'm sad to say this wasn't a great read for me. I do hope the second book is better since the secondary characters had more of my attention than the main ones.
