This was the final book that Lily Blake wrote that goes along with CW's Reign. It was written fantastically and she really had the characters' voices down! 

I would have loved to see this book as an actual episode. Especially given the shenanigans that Kenna gets her and Greer into (Side note: I now picture Greer as Rapunzel 😂) and especially the Frary related bits in the story!

Unfortunately, it's been about a year and a half since I watched seasons 1 and 2 of the actual tv show so I'm not quite sure as to which episodes this would coincide with if you wanted a full experience with the books and television show.

I feel like this would have been perfect to read in between seasons one and two despite the fact that there's some non-canon action going on - the only one I couldn't get past was the Francis things with a certain character because he would have NEVER done that. 

Overall though, I thought this book was VERY well written, and I do understand that it won't be completely like the show as it is only based but Lily Blake definitely stuck pretty close to the storyline and filled in the tiny gaps between stories. The reason I gave this four stars instead of five was due to what I previously mentioned for Francis. 

It's definitely a good read for any Reign fan, and I love the included double-sided poster.

Not bad for a TV show tie-in novel! It reads more or less like an episode (although I listened to the audiobook). There are three different mini-plots, just like an episode involving all your favourite characters. It takes place after the season 1 finale, so if you haven't watched the first season you will probably stumble along a bit as the majority of the storyline reads as if the reader has previous knowledge, such as Lola's pregnancy and Kenna and Bash's marriage, etc. It's not impossible to piece it all together, but that would definitely distract from the story if you don't know ahead of time. I didn't really have high expectations for this, but it's kind of fun if you already love the show a lot.
