Grown up? Haha what? Wh-what made you think I was grown up? Was it the makeup? The hair? The clothes? The internet jokes? All that teen stuff? Alexa! I was only playing! I don’t know what I’m going at all! The truth is…I’m still scared. I…I was only okay with getting older because—I knew you’d always be here for me. You remind me that I haven’t yet lost who I am. That I still remember what magic is. 

It’s confusing. But that’s what growing up is, no? Not knowing and being confused. No adult has any idea what they’re doing all the time, even me. And that’s not a bad thing. You get to make your own choices, and see those choices though. You’ll lose yourself sometimes and then discover something new. You’ll be remaking and developing who you are as you live and love. Do you see it, Lora? This is magic by another name—Freedom. It’s a blessing worth celebrating.
