It was a good book but felt rushed at the end and dragged here and there. It got super dark at the end however but over all it was decent

I waited a long time to read this book and I'm glad I did. It took a while for me to understand the different narrators and time frames but once I did, the story flowed well and was gripping and exciting.
A major plot twist that I didn't see coming made me go from disliking the main character to feeling her greatest sadness. This book makes you question your basic human emotions, sometimes things can seem black and white, but you never know the full story.

What originally drew me to Disclaimer by Renée Knight was the original concept. Catherine opens a book to discover that she is the main character and the author knows secrets that only she and one other person has knowledge of. Secrets that she has kept her whole life. 
This was a real page turner. I couldn't wait to find out what happened to Catherine and her family and how the story would unfold. However my main criticism with this novel is the characters. They are well thought out and thoroughly developed but maybe that's the problem. I didn't like any of them and when there isn't one sympathetic character I tend to lose interest a bit. I cannot invest my emotions in people I don't like! Despite this, the twist at the end was well worth waiting for and after passing it on to a friend, they really liked it and didn't have the same issues that I did.

This book was extremely underwhelming. I tried really hard to get into it and enjoy it, but try as I might I couldn’t.

           I was not expecting this book to be like it was and I’m glad it wasn’t to my expectations. Multiple times when I thought I knew what was going to happen, something different happened and shocked me. I swear I said “what??” Out loud at least 5 times.

Disclaimer tells the story of hard-working and career driven Catherine Bridgestock who finds a book which is uncanny to a buried experience of her past. Interpretations and perspectives are important and all may not be what it seems. Disclaimer emphasises that all secrets and truths come out in the end, good or bad. 

Disclaimer is a page turner and now one of my favourite books. I want to read it again. On the other hand, I fully acknowledge that this books was not particularly well written.
